43 screenshots of Tatsunoko VS Capcom

Confirmed characters: Ryu, Chun-Li, Casshern, and Ken Washio from Gatchaman (G-Force, Battle of the Planets).

Dir_en_grey5811d ago (Edited 5811d ago )

2 on 2 tag team: You can choose any combinations of 2 for characters on your team. You can tag in and out during battle. There will be "Tag Attack", "Assist Attack", and "Counter Attack". Super move "Hyper Combo" and Team Hyper Combo (Team Super) will be included. There will also be a new system/element that has yet to be revealed.

Super Jump and Aerial Wave will be intact.

Ken the Great Eagle:
Leader of the Science Ninja Team. Real name is Ken Washio, 18 years old. He uses the throwing weapon "bird-rang" after transformation. Normally working as a test pilot, his light plane "Air Race" can transform into "G-1" which combines with "God Phoenix". He has been in search for his separated father.

Yatta 1 can be seen in the shot of him fighting against Ryu.
Ken is a character that will have good aerial moves.
Servbot(Kobun) from Megaman (Rockman Dash) can be seen in Ken vs Casshern pic.

Lightning of Destruction Casshern:
An android made up by the memory data of Tetsuya Azuma and an indestructible body. Casshern fights against an android (Braiking Boss) that has discovered "self" and decided to turn against the humans. Besides a mask, pulsar propusion machine around his waist, being able to retract his lower limb, and other stuff that makes up a new type android, Casshern also has out standing battle abilities. He also a robot dog "Friender" that can transform into different mechs.

Casshern Lightning Punch, Casshern Kick, Friender's attack, and last pic is Casshern's Hyper Combo done against Ryu. Background changes during Hyper Combos.

I'll skip on Ryu and Chun Li's story translation cuz it's pretty much the same. First pic of Ryu is his standing Fierce. First pic of Chun Li is her air launcher which you can follow up with aerial rave.

Looks to me like 3D characters on 2D plane, so 2.5D.

Thank you so much for that, and I am super hella psyched for this game. ESPECIALLY since Casshern is in it, that made the game a day 0 purchase for whenever it hits consoles. It ALMOST makes me forgive Capcom for SFIV.

Doppy5811d ago

Looks like Marvel vs. Capcom for next gen.

MK_Red5811d ago

I can only pray that they release some sort of console port outside of Japan :(

v1c1ous5811d ago

you better pray that the characters they decide to put in don't form a maze of copyrights.

cause if i am correct, there's not a chance in hell you're gonna see this anywhere outside japan unless you import.

Skerj5811d ago

As long as it comes out for PS3 IN Japan then I'll be good. Region Free love baby.

MK_Red5811d ago

I see.

Well, it indeed seems that we all have to resort to import a hopefully console port.

(sigh) call me overzealous and i kno its just a video game but dont these developers understand taht they are undermining the strenghth of charcters in a video game when they release a versus title that shows less power in the game then the previous? in other words lets take MVC2.....this title displayed the charcters showing their most powerful moves ergo tellin the gamer (or user) that this contemporary game is where the character strength is currently at. Basically when Ryu shoots his Super Hadoken special, thats how powerful ryucurrently is. By making a versus series and showing Ryu shooting just a 7 hit fireball as his most powerful move undermines his strength overall becuz he was shooting 32 hit specials in MVC2. Forgive the subject of my post but im really dying for a MVC3 and these b*tch a$$ devs, dont see how many ppl want it. SFIV is omitted from this principle as it dwells in the most serious situations of the fighters. But a versus game is its own universe and shall only be continued if the characters grow in strength like they did in each series. (counting frm Xmen: COTA til MVC2)

Another titled excused from this principle is the SNK versus Capcom series as thats how strong the characters appear in that particular universe. To help me simplify i like th consider that particular versus series as an extension of the 'SF serious' series i named earlier. Unless this game is to become its own stand-off universe like the SNK vs. and Marvel vs. series, than just toss this project out and begin work on MVC3. PLEASE!!! IM BEGGING U. or port MVC2 to the PSN. SOMETHING!!!

cant wait...looks really decent

sf vs capcom

sf EX

its like a cross between these too which excites me! (not in a dirty way)

Skerj5811d ago

God, why couldn't SFIV look like that? It's freaking gorgeous.

KidMakeshift5811d ago (Edited 5811d ago )

The sprites (not sure if their HD or cell shaded) look good but the background doesn't look so hot

Also, the majority of Tatsunoko characters wear white outfits with either gold, blue, or red lettering/outlining, so I hope they really work around this (maybe a color editor option)

I wonder if characters (mechs) from Evangelion will be in this
The remake just came out on DVD today

Dir_en_grey5811d ago

Tatsunoko was only hired to do animation on Evangelion. The rights I think belongs to GAINAX, and the rights for doing games is already licensed to Bandai?

I'm not sure on the rights, but I'm sure Tatsunoko was only hired as animators, so...

Well there's always hoping =)

Golden Axe is a great game I enjoyed it on the SMS, Genesis and in the arcade. Great game but it truly was a quarter eater back in the day. I wish Sega could get the rights to the arcade port of Moonwalker another great arcade game I enjoyed. Collect so many monkeys and become Robo Michael lol.

Insert a (What’s an arcade center?) JK here
With the current state of gaming it’s almost a miracle there’s arcade centers open anywhere as gaming has became as common as flies on a dead rat with all mobile games available on phone that would had been a massive coins drainage 30 years ago

Concertoine9d ago (Edited 9d ago )

This is in contrast with the arcade industry in America which is coming back from Japan is just now going through. With the 80s nostalgia and Stranger things romanticizing it for a new generation. Also, at least around me, a lot more arcade machines in bars and barcades for the generation(s) that had arcades.

For reference Im 27 and got into arcades more as an adult than a kid

redknight8010d ago

So sad - I so greatly enjoyed the arcades over there when I visited!

ROCKY289d ago

arcades just like inside malls are a dying breed :(

Trilithon9d ago

if i was bezos ballin id open an underground arcade and make it free. dark and dingy with neon lights everywhere. Host tournaments for all the classics and sit in a big chair like an Outworld emperor.
