Kevin from Denkiphile: "The ’80s must be pretty mad that we stole Virtual Reality from them, but they can’t be half as mad as the gaming public after Facebook’s acquisition of the Oculus Rift. Regardless of how you feel, competition is good, and Oculus Rift has attracted plenty of copycats and usurpers to the VR throne that they’ve created. Here’s a look at some alternatives for virtual reality gaming."

Lol, maybe I'm becoming an old fart, but excessive violence in VR seems to bother me more than in flat games. Feels more visceral when you're looking a person in the eyes before mutilating them.
By no means am I trying to be a prude and saying these games shouldn't exist. I just play them more sparingly, need more breaks. I need some beautiful, refreshing & relaxing VR experiences too to balance them out so I don't feel so heavy.

IMO, there's two that are better than all these (except maybe Beat Saber), Thrill of the Fight and AUDICA.
Oculus Rift, FTW
Actually, there's only one real alternative. And it's made by Sony. But hopefully the VR trend will spur more competition.
Compared to the vr headsets of the 90's these latest attempts are still too big and bulky for my taste... I think once one of these companies manages to condense the technology to the size of a small pair of goggles or better yet, glasses; only then will there be a viable interest in virtual reality... Right now, i just see it as another (recycled) fad like all those 3d tv's that were being pushed last year.
Funny, a month ago, OR was almighty, but since Sony announced there own, fair enough, OR might as well be MS now.... Usual propoganda policies working well here.....
