Great to hear. The game looks better and better every time they show it so im really eager to see what it looks like now. I wonder what all the naysayers who tried to spread FUD around after the Evolution lay-off's have to say about "spectacular progress"?

I'm expecting a summer release. I'm guessing either June or July, but if it comes out before then that would be awesome. My hype has died down a little for this, but i know as soon as i see some new gameplay i will go nuts, just like i did when they released those short clips months ago.

ArmGunar1761d ago

Cool, I thought they'll announce release date at E3

If they do earlier, I'm happy !

Thank you for the link to drive club's music track. The track is indeed electrifying. I can feel the wind blowing through. I can't wait to play this.

GarrusVakarian1761d ago (Edited 1761d ago )

Just listened to the link you posted...i don't listen to that type of music normally, but it sounds PERFECT for a racing game. Speeding through a mountain pass with that track game bliss.

Ughh....hurry up and release the game!!!

I wonder how racing games sound to the Metal Gear Rising soundtrack.

Driveclub will put shame to the devs that made forza 5.

medman1761d ago (Edited 1761d ago )

Driveclub doesn't have to do that, although I will say Forza 5 was a stripped down new gen version of Forza 4 with less cars, less tracks, no weather, and still no day night cycle, so that bar to reach isn't all that high with Driveclub offering night driving and weather. It's still ridiculous to me that Forza doesn't have night racing or weather. How can that game be taken seriously without basic effects is a real question. Gamers will enjoy Driveclub but let's be honest...we're all waiting to see GT7, hopefully something about GT7 at E3. Please.

doolin_dalton1761d ago

I'll be interested to finally see an apples to apples comparison of the same genre on Xbox One and PS4.

Forza 5 is 1080p and 60 frames per second. However, Turn 10 are accused of downgrading Forza 5 in order to maintain those specs.

So, when Drive Club is released, we'll see what a 1080p/60FPS PS4 driving game can do in the effects department. Unless, of course, Drive Club's frame rate is massively downgraded in order to add special effects. If that's the case, then we'll know once and for all that there's little difference between the two.

I agree I am more so looking forward to the driveclub gran turismo next gen competition.

HugoDrax1761d ago

Seriously? You just had to mention a Microsoft game didn't you? Are you that concerned about drive clubs success..

Forza 5 is a good game, that runs at 1080P/60FPS. It even has narration from Top Gears Richard Hammond. The engine sounds, and track replication are identical to its real life counterpart. Stop being a troll, geesh...

No_Limit1761d ago (Edited 1761d ago )

There is no way I am getting Driveclub ever, not with Forza 5 already and the looming of Forza Horizon 2. I just don't feel confident in a game that was supposed to be a launch title and went back to the drawing board.

Hicken1761d ago

I'd feel less confident in a game that released with minimal content and substantial downgrades all for the sake of reaching a few performance benchmarks. Frankly, I'd rather the game was delayed and made better.

But if you like buying incomplete titles, be my guest.

IRetrouk1761d ago

To be honest, if you own both consoles, which I think you do, then why would you choose one over the other? Last gen I owned a 360 and ps3, all exclusive racing games got bought on their respective consoles, maybe you are not a big racing fan, but the fact that you play forza says otherwise, you confuse me sometimes :-/

nunley331760d ago

Forza was incomplete and rushed heavily to make launch,it didn't matter if it was ready or not to ms. #driveclub is completely opposite getting the needed time to polish it up so it 's ready as a full product. That's a huge difference between ms & sony.

I hope they have gone the Arcade route since we already have GT for our Driving simulator.

GarrusVakarian1761d ago (Edited 1761d ago )

I hope it's in-between sim and arcade....but more on the arcade side. GT and Project CARS will fill the sim gap for me.

T21761d ago

It should be interesting with project cars announcing morpheus support and Gt as well, driveclub may not be a huge game. Launch would have been perfect timing but hey its psplus free, cant lose

nunley331760d ago

Yeah it looks more arcade like need for speed.Interesting to see how project cars does morpheus. The rumors stated #driveclub was delayed for adding morpheus into it among other things and polish.

D3ATH_DRIV3R_7771761d ago

It's a crossover between arcade and sim. It's not 100% arcade or 100% sim! it's sort of best of both worlds.

incendy351761d ago

Yep, seems somewhat similar to Forza Horizons.

BadlyPackedKeebab1761d ago

Simcade - I do believe I coined that genre here and now.

candy_mafia1761d ago

Yup I agree, I would love an arcade mode as well as the full simulation style.

I sometimes play a really really old game called Outrun on my HTC, it's made by Sega?? anyways, it's just 'fun' so a casual mode for Drive Club would be totally cool:)

IRetrouk1761d ago

Im hoping it plays like pgr4, by far the best arcade racer last gen, I know they have some old pgr staff so hopefully they had a bit of input on the handling, really cant wait to see what they have been doing as each time we have caught a glimpse there has been a noticeable jump in quality, cant wait :-)
