Dying Light – Game World Size, Customization, AI and More

OnlySP: Dying Light, the upcoming zombie apocalypse game by Dead Island developers Techland and published by Warner Bros., is shaping up to be an interesting experience. I played a bit of it late last year, and found it enjoyable. Combining hoards of the undead with a huge open world and the freedom of a parkour-like movement system, and with the option of four player co-op, Dying Light promises to give a unique experience of the zombie apocalypse. We recently talked with Tymon Smektala, producer of Dying Light, about how the crew at Techland are making the zombie apocalypse happen.

Cool, can't wait to see more of this game.

Certainly excited to see just how big the world is. Also, the fact that a lot of the buildings are enter-able is exciting. When I think of zombie survival games, I think of getting stuck in claustrophobic areas and literally fighting your way out.

Can we get a release date please so I can go ahead and preorder?

"with the option of four player co-op"......now we're talking!......co-op ups the fun level big time imo.....

That's the only thing that has me interested. From what I've seen, it's not for me, but with co-op everything is fun.

Elvis-204104d ago

offline or online co-op?

Online... my friends live all over the country.

And the release date is...?

Nobody bought it for an obvious reason.

Gamingsince1981119d ago

Wtf did this edition come with ? A real helicopter and a real zombie virus ?

For one lucky person willing to spend $386,000, the My Apocalypse Edition of Dying Light promised a staggering collection. It included the buyer’s face in the game, a human-sized ‘Volatile’ statue, and parkour lessons with a freerunning team. It also came with night vision goggles, an all-expenses paid round trip to Techland’s offices, and four signed copies of the game. Oh, and it also came with a custom-built, ‘zombie-proof’ survival shelter.

LOL but it was a stunt from the team:
‘It was a PR stunt and got a lot of media attention for its wild and over-the-top nature, it was designed to generate buzz around the game’s release. It did a great job of getting the game noticed, though! But nobody purchased it – thankfully, I guess!’

I finally beat DL2 this past weekend. I’ll pick up the Beast for sure.

It got a lot of shit from fans more not being as scary at night on release. I was in that boat. But once I gave it a fair shot I really loved it. The movement was so much more expressive to me. I enjoyed the story too.... for the most part. Was my game of the year when it came out. With all the updates for darker nights and all that, it's even better. I feel almost exactly the same about stalker 2 right now. The erojank games are scratching my itch.
