GRID demo reaches a million downloads

Tried it, wasn't that impressed. It was solid but as an average racing game fan I think I will pass on this one.

Well it really really depends on what you like. I personally like a better balance between arcade and sim. Grid is basically 100% arcade and nothing else. The damage engine is impressive and overall the visuals are impressive. The game has a lot of hype right now and the first review of 9/10 has been pretty positive.

The game will sell moderately well. Most of the sales will probably go to the 360 since PS3 recently got Gran Turismo and 360 hasn't had a quality racer since PGR4. Plus the game is being hyped up as a GT killer and a lot of 360 fans seem to be eating it up so...goooo grid

shysun...it's kind of unfair to compare it to prologue though because that is the gold standard for graphics in general. I might rent it if I get bored but definitely not worth the $60 from what I have seen. I did like the drifting from the steering wheel though, that was kind of fun.

It maybe "unfair" but it's the truth. I even put both games to the test and my wife said the first one(GTP) looks so much clearer! It just looks like a fogy mess and the driving physics were way off.

anyway, i downloaded the GRID demo, and I think it was good; but i didn't like it because I'm not really into racing games; the only one i really liked was GT 2.

oh your talking about the demo that's in HD, has online play(great), down loadable ghost cars and plenty of behind the scene videos about real state of the art cars, 80 cars, 8 tracks(16 reverse) tuning and the best driving physics known to man.... oh that demo right? Don't hate, it looks bad on you.

I thought its great. cross between sim and arcade. Great fun.

...but I felt like I was thrown into it without any idea of specific game mechanics. I know that there is a brake button, gas button, and handbrake button but since I've never drifted my car in real life that one mode was frustrating. You know the one. I haven't bothered to go back to it to get past the learning curve but I might because it's free to download.

good, bad......as long as it's got those darn cutey achiev. then i'll at least give it a rent. on a side note, why do people feel the need to down the game and compare it to some other game they declare better? a game being "better" is totaly a matter of opion. so dont force yours on anybody!

I know there are those at there that like sim racing but I want to have fun and like arcade racing.

The last sim racing I played was GT2. I was doing about an hour long race and then as I finish it jams and corrupts my saved file. Never played again.

The Grid demo is awesome, but I really wish that everyone who drives the wrong way and/or parks their car in the middle of a turn would go phuck themselves.

These jerkoffs are ruining an otherwise brilliant game and it needs to be dealt with (make them invisible, please!!)

So I was dissapointed when I felt the arcade handling. If you use the bonnet or inside view it feels so much more real.
Please try it again people, it's the most intense racing experince ever.
Put it on the highest difficulty, turn off the assists and drive from the bonnet or inside view and you have an extremely realistic SIMULATOR. They made it for sim and arcade fans so you just got to tweak the settings to turn it into a simulator.
Can't wait for this!
