GRID demo reaches a million downloads

TVGB: "I seriously can't say 'one million' out loud without at least thinking about putting my pinky finger to my lip and adding dollars to the end despite Dr. Evil's cultural relevance being pretty much gone. Thus when I read the press release announcing that Race Driver: GRID's demo had been downloaded over one million times across the 360, PS3 and PC I couldn't help but envision Dr. Evil racing in a beautifully rendered car, swerving around tracks around the world."

Tried it, wasn't that impressed. It was solid but as an average racing game fan I think I will pass on this one.

Deleted the demo after 2 tries, gameplay doesn't live up to the hype

Well it really really depends on what you like. I personally like a better balance between arcade and sim. Grid is basically 100% arcade and nothing else. The damage engine is impressive and overall the visuals are impressive. The game has a lot of hype right now and the first review of 9/10 has been pretty positive.

The game will sell moderately well. Most of the sales will probably go to the 360 since PS3 recently got Gran Turismo and 360 hasn't had a quality racer since PGR4. Plus the game is being hyped up as a GT killer and a lot of 360 fans seem to be eating it up so...goooo grid

The demo looks washed out, GTP looks 5x better.

BeaArthur5970d ago

shysun...it's kind of unfair to compare it to prologue though because that is the gold standard for graphics in general. I might rent it if I get bored but definitely not worth the $60 from what I have seen. I did like the drifting from the steering wheel though, that was kind of fun.

It maybe "unfair" but it's the truth. I even put both games to the test and my wife said the first one(GTP) looks so much clearer! It just looks like a fogy mess and the driving physics were way off.

360 man5970d ago

yh but grid is free unlike some other demos. cough! cough!

poopsack5970d ago

get something for that fever because its making you delusional, GT5P had a demo for a limited time and im not talkin about GTHD and it was free so ajaaaaaaaa!

fox025970d ago (Edited 5970d ago )

Yea right; the demo of a demo; wtf.

anyway, i downloaded the GRID demo, and I think it was good; but i didn't like it because I'm not really into racing games; the only one i really liked was GT 2.

shysun5970d ago

oh your talking about the demo that's in HD, has online play(great), down loadable ghost cars and plenty of behind the scene videos about real state of the art cars, 80 cars, 8 tracks(16 reverse) tuning and the best driving physics known to man.... oh that demo right? Don't hate, it looks bad on you.

It was a pretty good demo, the only thing that bother me was that it had no since of speed.

360 man5970d ago

i think you mean no sense of speed

highdro5970d ago
