A 3 paragraph review? There's a ton more that the reviewer could have said about the game without spoiling anything.

GeddyThePolack4102d ago

I agree. It seems like any joe-schmo thinks they create a site and then they are a journalist.

XboxFun4102d ago

There's really nothing else to say. As other reviewers have mentioned the game is just like the other two with a shinier coat of paint.

if you like those two you'll like this one. End of story.

shame they couldnt at least do something a bit out of the box with all that power they supposedly are working with. Sometimes graphics just dont cut it.

ger23964102d ago

You pretty much described all sequels. Oh, and titanfall.

Hicken4102d ago

How are you not banned yet?

Obviously, sequels are meant to draw in people that liked previous entries. It will pull some new people in to the franchise- more than you want to believe- and by staying true to the others in gameplay aspects, it'll provide a platform for new fans to go backwards, as well the the more obvious familiarity for existing fans.

What game out there is doing something "a bit out of the box?"

Nothing. On either console. And you shouldn't expect it, really, this early on in the generation. Just like you should expect the best graphics possible at the start of the generation.

Shame you couldn't put your one bubble to better use. Sometimes trolling just doesn't cut it.

NeoTribe4102d ago

Your right about sometimes graphics not cutting it. Ryse being one of those examples. Infamous on the other hand is getting fantastic reviews and is selling amazingly. Its a awesome game.

nukeitall4101d ago (Edited 4101d ago )

@Hicken:

Titanfall is out of this world fun to play. Very different feel and Respawn certainly went out of the box to make this game.

@NeoTribe:

You thought you prefer graphics over game play so you should have loved Ryse. Me, I enjoy Titanfall. Fantastic game play, and even more fantastic reviews than any other AAA game released in recent time.

Hicken4101d ago

@nukeitall: Titanfall is pretty fun, not out of this world. Unless you're referring to the fact that it doesn't take place here on Earth.

And it FEELS very familiar. The only thing that took me a moment to grasp was the Xbox controller, since I'm just not used to them. Otherwise, the controls and feel of the game were extremely similar to Call of Duty and other shooters.

If all you've got to support this game is hyperbole, then it's failed.

"For the full review, head to the French side."

DaGR8JIBRALTAR4102d ago

Downloaded it around 2:45 this morning...took about 40 mins for a 22gb install, not bad. Played up until you meet the head of the DUP, I chose to take the infamous route. Went to bed after that. I'm at work but I so want to be at home rite now...lol.

BattleTorn4102d ago

I don't really get the PS4 download/install process.

For me, Second Son on my download list was around 5.5gb - yet the game is 21gb.

The same thing occurred with ShadowFall, download list only stated a fraction of the full game.

Is this just to be able to play? And the rest is downloaded in background?

Omegasyde4102d ago

Yes. The downloads are in portions.

This way you download the first portion, you can play up to "X" amount while the rest of the game continues to download.

On this game, I am not quite sure how they are "portioning" out the game since it's one big open world. For Killzone, you could choose singleplayer first, go through the campaign and then the rest of the game (multiplayer and end levels) would download while you play.

This service is not now or exclusive as some steam games had it as well as Xbox1.

TL:DR It's better to buy the physical disc than digital so you can play whole game at the get go.

DaGR8JIBRALTAR4102d ago

I didn't have the option to play any section while it downloaded, I had to wait until it was finished.

nukeitall4101d ago

@Omegasyde:

"It's better to buy the physical disc than digital so you can play whole game at the get go."

On XB1, all games are installed from disc. Faster load time, access to game anywhere I go with internet access and instant switching made me choose digital all the way.

If your internet is "high speed" downloading a portion of the game, then getting the rest while playing shouldn't be an issue for the majority.

If you live in a remote area.... then yeah, discs!

Next_Gamer4102d ago

It's a French website, the full review is on the French side and it's pretty big compared to others. It seems like any joe-schmo thinks they know better without even checking the whole website. :)

Father__Merrin4102d ago

I don't care what people say, if you want to see a true next gen game play infamous

the way your char moves about can only described as stunning, makes you think what future games can look like

They really need to

Go off the evil ending off Second Son

Delsin absorbs all those powers

Revealed he’s the real Beast and John in Infamous 2 was just an anomaly created by timelines being messed with by Kessler.

Cole vs the Real Beast

gold_drake330d ago

quite honestly, i dont remember a whole lot about 2 amymore, but i absolutely hated the guy in second son haha.

chicken_in_the_corn329d ago

It would make more sense to go off the evil ending of 2 and the good ending g of SS where Cole is The Beast.

Cacabunga328d ago

Doesnt make any sense calling second son 2 as infamous 3..

OtterX329d ago

Ha, yea Delsin was obnoxious.

I wouldn't mind another new character, but somehow bring Cole into the story.

We can just pretend like Delsin never existed. :)

thejigisup329d ago

Everyone that age is obnoxious. It's been years and is like to think delsin has grown

neutralgamer1992329d ago

Until we wait for a potential new entry it would awesome to have infamous collection for PS5

RaidenBlack329d ago

Umm ... how about this?
First we get the Tushima sequel(coz its most rumored)
Then a new Resistance (need new PS SP FPS)
Then a totally new IP (new IPs are always interesting)
And then a new inFamous?

Pepsi_Man3000329d ago

resistance is insomniac I think

xHeavYx329d ago

Can we also get a complete remaster of InFamous 1 and 2?

fr0sty328d ago

Gimme a new Warhawk and MAG while we're at it.

DivineHand125329d ago

I had a great time with the second son. Never got to play the originals and hope they get remastered one day.

DazaMc329d ago

The graphics were amazing, I got the platinum on that one. Very good.

ChasterMies329d ago (Edited 329d ago )

If I had a choice between another Infamous game and another Spider-Man game, I choose Spider-Man. Sony should spend its resources on its winners.

Tacoboto328d ago (Edited 328d ago )

Infamous was such a winner its studio was given the freedom (after 3 titles + their expansions) to do a new IP with GoT, just like with Sly Cooper before infamous.

I'd welcome a 4th title even more than another Spider-Man, it'd be exciting what they could do with new powers fit for the hardware outside the limits of a licensed superhero game.

jznrpg328d ago

Spider-Man is guaranteed and is made by Insomniac so why not both as Sucker Punch would make Infamous.

How Does inFAMOUS Second Son Hold up 10 Years Later?

inFAMOUS Second Son was one of PS4's best exclusives, but does it hold up a decade later?

100%, locked 60fps and still look great all these years later, same with the expansion, definitely worth a look if people haven't played it yet, not the best games ever made but a good experience, hopefully a new infamous gets released

KwietStorm_BLM518d ago

Never was my favorite infamous, but it was definitely a graphics showcase early on PS4. Still plays well with the unlocked frame rate.

SDuck518d ago

Still remember getting hyped about this game nearing release. Funny because I never even got a PS4. Jumped from PS3 to PC so I never played it ahahaha

OmegaSoldati517d ago

Its a good game. But thats it. Congratulations you made the best choice. I dream to have a great PC one day.

jznrpg328d ago

@OmegaSoldati I’ve had a few of the highest end PC’s and they’re cool for about a year then they aren’t the highest end PC anymore and not as cool. It’s way overrated imo.

Profchaos518d ago (Edited 518d ago )

Graphically It's a absolutely stunning game that still holds up today.

Didn't have all that much depth to it forcing you to play though twice for a platinum trophy a good and bad run it was a little disappointing how similar those were Delsin would be like I'm not doing that for you in a cutscene but the cutscene would play out and force you to do it anyway just as you would of in a good run

I did like the story however it got a lot of complaints back in the day people hated playing as Delsin instead of cole despite Coles story being wrapped up.

Overall though the map wasn't overly saturated with useless points of interest there was some collectibles and things to find but nothing compared to a Ubisoft game.

I think it was a good game if a little hollow I've played it through around 4 times now since it's so short.

Also it's DLC was great a full story expansion
