We already know it is this year. Enjoy the information we are getting and wait for e3. If we haven't heard a release date by e3 or at e3 I'll buy the pitchforks and torches for everyone.
Nintendo seems crazy slow to develop for the Wii U. How long can a game like Smash take to make really? This should have been (and may have been, I'm not sure) in development BEFORE the Wii U even released, and available within the first year.
And not a single word on the new Zelda game, one screenshot of that spider since what, 2012?
The problem is that they announced Smash WiiU/3DS very early in development. They started making the game in March 2012 and announced it 3 months later. Games take time to make, a 2 1/2 year development time is about as normal as you get.
Zelda will probably be shown at E3 and have a 2015 release.
Smash actually wasn't even in pre-production when Iwata announced it. Sakurai didn't even know about it at the time. It's been in development since a month or two after Kid Icarus Uprising came out.
what the hell man, that looks like an awesome character to use. Man, Nintendo should simply pass on the development of Smash Bros to Namco from here on out. I simply love how the Soul team is adding some of their Soul Calibur flair into the game. This looks like Smash Brothers for grown ups.
Err....Smash Bros is currently being developed by the members of Soul Team. I never said Phosphora was a Namco character. You really misread what I said.
Well, I apologize, but you should write more clearly. As the whole thing was on a single paragraph, I thought you were talking about Phosphora all the time.
Anyways, do you have a source that says Soul Team is working on it? As far as I know, it's a group from Namco, with no further info.
These are all of the people from namco that are working on the new Smash Brothers
Tetsuya Akatsuka (the art and sound director for the SoulCalibur series) and the main development team from the Tekken series will be working on the project alongside Director Yoshito Higuchi (Tales of Vesperia) and Producer Kenya Kobayashi (Ridge Racer).
There are people from Namco working on it but they aren't the ones in charge or the ones making all the decisions. Most of what you see came out of the heads of Nintendo's finest. They aren't developing it, they are aiding the development. Big difference.
The director of the game is still Sakurai, who is controlling every aspect of its development. This is still a Nintendo title through and through.
However, here's hoping that this game will be better balanced than previous entries, because t's being coded by a team specialized in fighting games. :)
Enough with the screenshots already, Release date already, Nintendo!
who?
