I am loving what M$ is doing with their games line up. Right now I can turn on my X1, and my choices of what to play is varied and appealing.

incendy353687d ago

Me too, so much to choose from.

I'm purchasing a PS4 this week (or next week) for Infamous and the X1 is being released on my country in September. Common Microsoft, make a Kinectless X1 happen! I want to purchase a Kinectless X1 in September.

HacSawJimThugin3687d ago

Sorry dude but a Kinectless X1 wont be releasing until Neveruary 31st.

Volkama3687d ago

Oh I get it, there are only 30 days in neveruary....

hamburgerhill3687d ago

Why does it need to be kinectless? Just play the games and be excited because right now MS seems to delivering some pretty good games. Your fault if you miss out.

ThePope3687d ago (Edited 3687d ago )

I've had an X1 since day one, and I can tell you the Kinect is awesome for turning on/off the console, opening apps, pausing shows, recording clips, broadcasting yourself, and signing in. It's slick, easy to use, and by September will most likely have the kinks worked out (occasional lack of voice and face recognition).

I would never have bought the Kinect if it was a separate device. And I honestly can tell you its pretty cool, and am glad I have it. I'm not sitting here with baited breath waiting for Kinect games, as I'm more of a traditional gamer.

There are other cool things it does that people forget about, for instance; when you set the controller down, when say watching a movie, the camera sees it not in your hand and turns the controller off. You can hold a code up to the camera (from your phone, iPad, or paper) and it will use the code. Also, in games like NBA, you can just say a play and it will have your team run it.

I don't care what you do, but N4G hates anything MS so I thought I'd give just a few reasons why its nice. I love my X1 and before I got it said I would never use the Kinect, I couldn't have been more wrong.

Cheers

^^This...deserves bubble hype. Couldn't have said it better myself. I don't need a killer app for Kinect because it does so freaking much already...and that is going to get better over time.

Last night I went into settings (with all of my lights off) and selected "what does Kinect see" and in absolute darkness Kinect saw me and my entire room with God like clarity. Simple stuff likes that blows my mind because of the potential that Kinect has.

Again awesome comment you have my vote.

"I would never have bought the Kinect if it was a separate device."

And that is why it's not optional...

And all the "voice commands" could be done with a mic, like the one that comes packaged in with the system.

christocolus3687d ago (Edited 3687d ago )

@the pope

I use it too and its great but its true purpose will finally be revealed after MS reveals their very own VR.

Its already been demoed with oculus rift in the past and some of the results were amazing,so imagine how well it will work with VR built ground up for the xbx one.

Clown_Syndr0me3687d ago

@Christocolus

Good point, to be fair X1 has more VR potential than PS4 as no one would need to go out and buy a camera and a move control.

Maybe this is the long term plan and will work out more cost effective.

ExPresident3687d ago

@Clown

Cost effective is not something Microsoft does in favor of the consumer so I wouldn't get your hopes up.

With the price drops I don't think bundling kinect is much of an issue anymore.

Yet if Sony are going to sell the VR unit, that is gonna push up the PS4 price considerably if you want the feature.

At the very least you are guaranteed developers can include kinect features, knowing every customer has it.

Xbox One bringing the games :)

HacSawJimThugin3687d ago

Yes!!! Saw this being played on Twitch by Bahroo and Gothalion a few months ago, thought it was pretty cool.

If rumours are true and microsoft has a vr headset of their own kinect aint ever getting dropped. on topic the game could be decent nice to see microsoft adding to the games list, hope to see shenmue 3 added very soon.

"robbing some players of an effective means to grind loot."

Loot drops like candy. Bounties can easily be farmed and you get a ton of loot with each mission/stronghold you do. Every level up gets you 2 to 3 top end items each time. And Recalibrating loot that isn't max level bumps it up over 500 easily. People were exploiting a bug to get loot by just relogging or jumping between servers (including a youtuber who did the same in Anthem, but said he'd only did it because it was pve only), and now everyone suffers.

Forced Review | TXH

Joao writes "The graphical style, the isometric view, the fantasy theme; everyone remembers titles like Diablo 3 and Torchlight, but Forced is different in its nature. This is indeed an action RPG but is instead based in a number of arenas in which, either alone or with up to four players in co-op, you have to beat a series of increasingly powerful enemies using not only strength but also the ability to solve puzzles."

Not really what I expected it to be, and if I can't get some friends to buy it too then it seems a no go.
