New 'n Tasty sales of more than 500K will ensure Abe's Exoddus remake and new Oddworld game

A remake of Abe's Exoddus will be developed if 250,000 copies of New 'n' Tasty are sold, Oddworld creator Lorne Lanning told Eurogamer at GDC, adding half a million units will ensure the development of an all new Oddworld game after that.

Day 1 for me, hope they make the sales for a new Oddworld game

NukaCola3691d ago (Edited 3691d ago )

Yeah Oddworld is my favorite gaming story. I'm 100% getting this masterpiece.

The original still rivals titles like Uncharted and Portal in its shear ability to flow flawlessly in game play and the graphics & art style continue still to blow me away.

I feel like I've been waiting for this for years! Can't wait to replay it - day one from me as well!

Spread the word dude. People need to stop thinking Call of Duty and Battlefield and start thinking Oddworld lol. Either way, I think this will do just fine. Indie games on 3DS, Wii U and PC are selling a million+ with new IPs. Think of how this will do across all those plus PS4.

Edit: Also Oddworld is a beloved franchise. It will be successful for sure as long as fans buy it and spread the word to build hype.

WeAreLegion3691d ago (Edited 3691d ago )

I'll buy as many copies as I have to. I want a new Oddworld!

If they put it on Kickstarter, I think they'd see well over that $2 million he mentioned.

"If you're a 2D puzzle adventure aficionado who doesn't already own Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty on one of the half dozen consoles that it's currently available for then it'll make for a worthy purchase but those who do have it will find little reason to get it again on Switch." - A.J. Review - Oddworld: New 'N' Tasty! (Switch) | WayTooManyGames

WTMG's Heidi Hawes: "All Oddworld: New ‘N’ Tasty! managed to do was frustrate me. However, it did make me appreciate the controls in Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee more. Honestly, if you’re new to the franchise, it might even be better to just skip ahead to Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath. At least those gameplay mechanics feel like something more from this era. That being said, if you’re a die hard fan of Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee or perhaps just a glutton for punishment, then perhaps try your luck with Oddworld: New ‘N’ Tasty!."

Well, no it is not. It's a mediocre remake of a classic. The original PS1 game is a 10/10 masterpiece. As a raging nerd on this series, the game is okay at best. I'd give it a 7.5/10 personally.
