PALGN writes: "With so many animated films being released on a regular basis, we've come to expect the inevitable video game tie-in to follow closely behind it. Most of the time, the game is semi-competent at best and offers something that's probably better suited to a younger audience rather than the 'hardcore' gamers out there. This year, however, there seems to be a couple of 'movie games' that are actually quite fun to play, including WALL-E which we previewed recently, and of course Kung Fu Panda, based on the movie of the same name featuring the always amusing Jack Black as the lead role.
When the concept of a movie is 'a panda that learns Kung Fu', the game developers must get a little bit giddy at the thought of gameplay possibilities. No need to create strange concepts to go along with a movie that doesn't feature much action, because a character like Po from Kung Fu Panda is likely going to be in some over-the-top fighting scenes, which opens plenty of doors for action and platforming elements in the game world. Jack Black provides his voice in the game, so straight away the authenticity from the movie is present."
