OPM’s PS4 “Series of Massive Significance” Teased Last Month Isn’t What Most Expected

Last month’s issue of Official PlayStation Magazine UK teased a “series of massive significance” to be “finally confirmed” on the PS4 on this month’s issue, and the first copies are already in the hands of readers, confirming what the tease was all about.

This time I would say it goes a bit beyond the usual hyping. It's true that they didn't technically lie, but goodness. I expected at least something exclusive to the mag.

i was hunting this story down to try and find out what it was was , then it suddenly occured to me after arkham knight was debuted. although i am REALLY looking forward to it myself and alot of other gamers thought it would have been shenmue 3... ahwell

OPM were right that Arkham is a massive series, but their cover comes two weeks too late after the info splurge.

The problem they have is that Game Informer is able to get all the exclusive reveals on account that their owner Gamestop can offer extra in-store promotions of the game, and there is no other mag that can compete with that. OPM previously complained about having to drop their reveal of an older Assassin's Creed game because their publisher got a better offer.

No, this is why game marketing has become a joke. Why after what happened with Aliens: Colonial Marines MS and Sony have their own "bait and switch" incidents. MS with Titanfall and now I hear Infamous: SS is having some graphics controversy.

Shenmue would have been nice, loved the first 2. It needs a real ending. I hope one day Sega comes through but I have low expectations for it.

No don't discriminate, but all we hear from Sony 8 Indies on E3 floor, and indie this indie that. Yeah, I get it cheap to make and easy to pump out. I enjoy the Limbo, Bastion, Braid, etc I bought them all just want some PS4 either exclusive or something new like the new Batman game.

Anyone getting concerned right now for the PS4? Every weak MS is teasing a new game to be shown at GDC or E3 and yet sony is just insanely quiet on the matter. WTF sony? Since Arkham origins sucked I honestly thought Rocksteady had moved on and the Arkham series was done. So a next gen only Batman by Rocksteady is actually pretty awesome news.

Man people are starting to really chomp at the bit and get antsy though. Really neither system has anything that mind blowing in 2014 to be honest. So to me Batman is kind of the most promising title of 2014 at the moment.

So many delays really, it's disappointing. Witcher I thought was supposed to be out in March and now it's like next year. I feel like the whole next gen console race has been put off till 2015 kind of.

Not the end of the world I guess since the PS4 will likely still be $399 by then. And the Xbox is likely to drop by then. Plus being in Canada now the PS4 is even more so I'm really glad I bought it before the dollar tanked and the gouging started.

I was looking forward to Mad Max actually so I hope that still comes out in 2014. And I really really hope a next gen GTAV releases in June like people are speculating it will, cause that will be awesome.
