At some point both will be reduced to that sweet spot of $299 or even $199. it would not surprise me if sony just makes the camera a standard pack-in. And Ms wont be dropping kinect no matter how much people want that to happen.

if the inclusion of kinect is the turn off to buying an XB1 then there really is no interest in the first place. People will just make up some other excuse if/when the price drops to a more reasonable level.

Maybe one will be...my dog died so i had to comfort myself by spending the money i had set aside for an xb1 on a hooker.

"How low will the Xbone have to go" before I buy one? Well:

1) Do an entire overhaul on the architecture
2) Remove the "Kinect"
3) Show us talents from your 1st party studios and have 1st party like "Rare" create excellent games like they did back at Nintendo instead of try buying other studio games.
4) Give us the option to upgrade harddrive without it affecting our warranty.
5) Make F2P actually F2P without the live paywall.
6) Keep the price competitive

Otherwise, no thanks. Not even if it's free.

The reason the PS camera is doing so well is because its optional, and people like options. Hell, Sony didn't expect to run low on inventory with so many people buying them (some stores are charging 3x the price since there's low stock).

And at the moment, the weaker system has a mandatory camera and costs $100 more (why buy a weaker system for more?). Reduce it below the PS4 and make the camera optional, and you'll see people get it.

Is Right I see that x1 is worth 350 currently now at this point in time. You could make the case that the Kincet is worth a extra $50. But you would be hard pressed to find core gamers willing to pay for Kincet. The PS4 Is More Powerful Than X1 Hardware So It Makes Sense To Cost More Than x1.

It won't have to go much lower than it is right now honestly. At least not for while. Once the R&D Costs have been paid back then obviously drop the price, but as it sits right now, XB1 is only in 13 countries and actually selling rather well. Obviously as gamers we WANT the price to be lower...hell, free, but in all honesty it doesn't NEED a price cut yet. Throwing in a free game would be awesome or a year of XBL, something that people actually want, but other than that, nothing crazy. As far as Kinect, I know that a lot of people want it removed, but honestly I think that's a mistake. I don't game with kinect, that's not really for me, but I do love using it to navigate around the system. With so many options, it's great just be able to say what you want to do, and have it take you straight there. Plus now with twitch and skype, there is all sorts of added benefits to it that people don't think of. I think Kinect gaming is a LONG way off from taking over, but all the "soft" features of it are really impressive(I also wish they bring back the illumniroom idea...I'm sure as projector technology gets cheaper and bulbs don't burn out as quick, that would quickly become a great feature).

That's because in my opinion, it is. A LOT of people don't want the Kinect bundled, so to them, they're paying extra for a camera they will never use, along with that, why do they have to pay an extra $100 for something that has PROVEN to be weaker than their competition?

I'm pro PlayStation, but I still want an XBOX ONE, I just want the price to be the same as the PS4 or cheaper WITHOUT the Kinect, and I want to see more games released at 1080p 60fps, THEN I'll buy one. Right now, MS look like they're about to crack, TitanFall is their last bout. They're not used to being behind the competition, and they're panicking.

No Kinect is not happening. I just bought one and I can understand why they want everyone to have one. It works as advertised for me.

Honestly. If it goes to $400 that might be good enough. CAG discovered a code for dropping the price of the X1 Titanfall Edition to $399. Not only did it work but they were sold every single console at the Microsoft Store.

i would say if MS want to compete make the xbone 399.99 and then focus on games and features, i like both MS and Sony consoles, but nothing has lead me towards really wanting a xbone right now.

It would have to at least match the PS4 pricing. The general consensus is that the PS4 is the better console to buy with all things considered(truly not trying to be a fanboy) If you want to appeal to the more causal buyers you have to consider the bad rep the X1 is getting and adjust the price so that you do not completely lose their interest.
