RPG buffs have another turn-based combat system to get into.
IGN : Enjoy this new cinematic trailer for The Occultist, a new first-person narrative-driven psychological horror game from Daedalic Entertainment and developer DALOUR that's due out in 2025 for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5. It promises stealth gameplay, puzzles, and plenty of memorable characters where you, as Alan Rebels, search the mysterious island of Godstone in the wake of your father's disappearance.
The development team behind the panned The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, Daedalic Entertainment, is shutting down.
That's a shame, but they should have at least done more to release the game in a better state.
I hate to see studios close but they made a really bad game. The studio has actually never made a decent game from what I’ve seen.
Pity. But whoever greenlit a gollum game? It's the laast character that anyone will play anyway. There's literally an array of other characters in lotr world. Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas, gimli etc..
not really sure what to say about this, or how to word it. I'm sympathetic to those who lost a job, but also the studio was just very dumb. Too ambitious when they lacked the talent, and a clear direction. The price and the fact it was broken really didn't help either. A real shame
From GameWatcher: "Daedalic Entertainment has a second The Lord of the Rings game in development, set to release prior to the end of August 2024.
The German publisher and developer recently released its first effort based on Tolkien's popular universe, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, which so far counts among the year's worst-reviewed games."
''has attracted government funding via the German Games Fund amounting to''
Suddenly it all makes sense.
I wonder if their apology statement is also in the works yet, or if that comes later in development?
May want to work on this one longer. But if it has dated gameplay than it is screwed either way
