Earth Defense Force 2025 Review: The Goldilocks Conundrum - Error Not Found

Ryan McGinley writes: "Ah Earth Defense Force. The "Sharknado" of the gaming industry. Sandlot, the developer of this cult hit series, has built these games from the ground up as B-movie experiences. So after three games in the series, all with the premise of providing a knowingly cheesy and imperfect game, it seems fitting that Earth Defense Force 2025 is the best game so far in terms of its B-movie action, but on the technical side of things it is as imperfect as ever, except that isn't as endearing."

Having played this and edf ia, 2025 seems like a lazy ass sequel to 2017, it goes back to the stone age in overall menu's, stats and progression.

The visuals aren't really any better than edf ia, enemy models wise look worse(yes iknow it is adifferent asthetic) ants in particular and the voices and the constant bug sounds had me muting the voice audio.

And the best part waiting for it to load which takes too long only to see mission complete 5 minutes later and repeat the process another 80 times. This is beyond tedious, stop wasting my time for a loadsceen to see another loadscreen 5 miutes later.

Edf ia came out at 39.99, how the hell they justify a 49.99 price tag for this 2007 era designed game i'll never understand. Of course stupid me decided i'll just download it instead of waiting to check it out via gamefly, lesson learned.

Maybe at 29 it would be a good buy but it is such a downgrade from ia that i'll pass on all future installments, that designs a game for 2014 and not 2006.

If you liked insect Armageddon, rent this or steer clear of this game because this is nothing like it.

Earth Defense Force 2025 Review: The Video Game Equivalent of Sharknado | GamerTell

From the review, "For the uninitiated, it won’t take long to discover that Earth Defense Force 2025 is not a game that takes itself too seriously. The story won’t go far towards substantiating games as a powerful medium for storytelling, nor does it seek to. If the story does anything, at all, it establishes some context for the fun that unravels in the game’s fully destructible landscapes, and lends a history to the nigh endless horde.

Players take control of one of four elite classes in the employ of a world funded organization charged with protecting the Earth from extraterrestrial threats."

Earth Defense Force 2025 Review - Gametactics

Once again we're battling an amalgamation of giant insects and alien robots, because yet again the EDF failed to purge every last bit of them from the solar system. The panic of the soldiers and news reporters gets drowned out by all the carnage so repetitiveness of this story line doesn't really get to you at least. Read on as Michael LeParc of Gametactics reviews Earth Defense Force 2025 for the Xbox 360.
