It's been a while since the North American release of Gothic 3, and you still see threads pop up on message boards asking if it's playable yet. The fact that it was released in a messy state is no secret, yet there's still a strong community involved with the game, so much so that some have taken to patching it themselves. Gothic 3, like its predecessors, had some great ideas built in and offered a vast and beautiful world to explore. The third game also happened to have rampant stability problems and a flawed combat system, which certainly didn't help the franchise.
With the fourth title in the series, Piranha Bytes, the German developer responsible for the first three games, is not be handling things. Instead a part German, part French developer, Spellbound, has taken up the reigns. For advice on how to proceed forward, the developer has been in contact with the player community still working to improve Gothic 3 and, somewhat surprisingly, the folks over at Pirahna Bytes. Publishing duties will be handled by JoWood (which owns the Gothic intellectual property) in Europe and Dreamcatcher (a subsidiary of JoWood) in North America.
One man's bad game is another man's good game.
While many will disagree with the author, i will say that i am actually interested to get Arcania now. It was on my mind a while ago but i forgot all about it. Hopefully its a good game.
As long as you don't expect a AAA top-tier RPG there's a lot of fun to be had in Arcania. It's a great game to play with headphones on, curtains closed and for extended play sessions - If you pick it up I hope you enjoy it!
I could probably list 10 reasons why The Witcher 3 is better than every oher game ever made. But at the end of the day it will still only be an opinion and not objective fact.
How can someone say, that a dense story is bad and straightforward story is good? I didn't even read the rest, he is just wrong.
TotallyGN writes: Monsters, magic and the medieval are back in this the complete story of Arcania: Gothic 4 plus its expansion Arcania: Fall of Setarrif. If an RPG is your genre of taste then you may like this, then again you may not. As I will go on to explain...
OPM: There are classics, cult classics and then there are the other games: the one’s that stand out like a dog spray painted pink and wearing a hat. Those release where nothing makes sense anymore. These are those – the best WTF? games of 2013.
'Rambo: The Video Game
It’s actually a stealth/action FPS that recreates key moments from all three films.'
I wonder if it will include the end of the original movie where Ramboss has a mini breakdown and crys for 5 minutes while mumbling incoherently...
I'm still unhappy about change in developers :(
The original team could have made a superb game if stupid publisher hadn't pushed them and forced them into releasing an unfinished game.
