Getting outsold 5:1 by a system that is impossible to find is embarrassing.

Almost getting outsold 2:1 by the PS3 is even more embarrassing.

The Xbox One is in competition with the Wii U, not the PS4.

NewMonday2184d ago (Edited 2184d ago )

XOne 11,950
WiiU 11,313
PSV 10,311

to put things in perspective, the Vita is 2 years old and the WiiU is over a year in the market but the "new" XB1 is barely competing with them.

johndoe112112184d ago

I think it's safe to say that the xbox is officially dead everywhere except the US and maybe the UK. I still think they're gonna sell a ton of xbones but it ain't gonna be outside the US. Microsoft needs to focus on the US and offer some incentives for US buyers to want to purchase their system.

they are trying to fight a loosing battle in Europe and the rest of the world. Regardless of what the xbone supporters want to think, things are not looking good for microsoft.

Magicite2184d ago (Edited 2184d ago )

so basically there are 4 leagues:
1st - PS4 and 3DS
2nd - PS3
3rd - X1, WiiU and PSV
4th - X360, PSP, Wii

Funny that each league has one Playstation system :D (Playstation domination)

P.S. I believe PS3 will eventually outsell Wii worldwide and then there will be 4 generations of Playstation domination.

lolCHILLbro2184d ago

This is Europe, not the UK, PS4 is available in alot more territories, Xbox One has NOT even launched in the Nordic countries yet so everyone keep your Playstation skirts on lol

MasterCornholio2184d ago

Still doesn't change the fact that the console is vastly outselling the Xbox One in almost all regions.

The UK is part of Europe BTW,

MasterOfThe12Blades2184d ago

Lol! "This is Europe, not the UK"
Geographically the UK is a part of europe and it is also a member of the EU!

Clarence2184d ago

Stop it.

US alone could outsell all those territories. The reason M$ hasn't released the xbone in other territories is, they thought that NA and EU combined would put them over the top.

ger23962184d ago

What do the preorders look like in those territories?

cyber_daemonx2184d ago

@lolCHILLbro. You xbox fans are amazing. No matter how negative it looks for xbone, you always try to spin it round. Damage control
much ?

Even if you only count the UK figures, xbone is STILL getting a pounding in sales, you know M$ 2nd largest territory last gen.

Tbh, if you look at it objectively, it's not looking good for xbone, anywhere.

thatsBangin2184d ago

Damn dude, u must be hurting inside watching your little pet xbone get stomped on

bleedsoe9mm2184d ago

ps4 53 countries , xbox one 13 , there would be a big problem if sony wasn't killing them

badz1492184d ago

the funny thing is, XbOne is not outselling the PS4 in any of those 13 countries either! have you taken that into consideration?

LeCreuset2184d ago

@bleedsoe9mm and @lolCHILLbro

It's really getting hard to make this point without being insulting. It just boggles my mind that you, still, completely don't get it.

1) Xbox could have launched in the same territories Sony did, IF THEY WANTED TO. They did not, because they wanted to concentrate stock in the markets where 360 did the best, because they thought it would sell better there than if they diluted their stock by shipping to those other markets as well.

2) Markets are not equal! That ridiculous talking point about Sony selling more because they launched in more territories assumes that markets are equal. They are not. The US is a much bigger market than France, despite them both numerically representing one market each. The US could separate into 50 independent nation-states, or 50 markets, and 49 of those markets combined would still be smaller than the 1 market that was the US. Are you finally understanding?

3) So how's it looking for Xbox in the markets where it did launch against PS4?

Bathyj2184d ago

Yeah, once Xbone launches in those Nordic countries, sales are going to go through the roof.

pyramidshead2184d ago

Microsoft seem to have forgotten all about those Tier 2 countries lol. Must suck. All those potential Titanfall sales.

Kryptix2184d ago

The UK is a part of Europe...

And there's a reason why Microsoft put focus in that one territory due to the fact that it was a major supporter of the Xbox 360.

I guess the sides have really turned around. Actually, it's not a guess, it's a fact.

BitbyDeath2184d ago (Edited 2184d ago )

VGChartz only records UK, Germany and France numbers as Europe. Xbone is in all of those. The difference would be far larger if they also included the other countries where it is not available.

medman2184d ago (Edited 2184d ago )

You know why Microsoft haven't launched in those territories? Because they were dominated there last gen and expect much the same this time around, so no big rush. Why run into the room with the bully when the outcome is never in doubt? There are eight, count em, eight ps4 games on that list of best sellers before you come to the top selling xbone game. An absolute smashing, is what that is. Case closed critter. Sony is killing them. Just because you can't, or won't, face reality doesn't mean the teeth aren't on the floor.

Bathyj2183d ago (Edited 2183d ago )

I did not know that BitbyDeath.

So the gap would actually be larger cos theyre not counting any country in Europe that isnt UK, Germany or France?

Besides, those 40 or so extra countries Xbone has yet to release in is going to translate into about 10k sales a week. So it might end up 5:2 instead of 5:1. Big whoop.

My shop prices:
PS4 - 400 euros
Xbox One - 590 euros
200 euro differences. Of cause cheaper will out sell higher priced console
PS4 is in 48 countries, Xbox One is in 13 countries.

Illionaire2184d ago (Edited 2184d ago )

"PS4 is in 48 countries, Xbox One is in 13 countries"

The Xbox One is being outsold in every country the 360 succeeded in and every single major market. The Xbox 360 sells next to nothing in the countries the Xbox One is unavailable. Ex. Japan is the next biggest market and the 360 barely broke a million in 7 years. Since you obviously not sharp at math that's roughly 12,000 per month average.

But hey, you want to keep the dream alive, be my guest.

chrisarsenalsavart2184d ago (Edited 2184d ago )

Superman just smoked to much green stuff lately(I meant kryptonite of course)
590 euros for Xbox1
Where do you shop?
Harrods London,

KratosGod32184d ago

Now explain to me how an expensier ps3 system outsold a chiper 360 system worldwide???

malokevi2184d ago

Lol. Not only is it embarrassing, but it literally defies all logic. Obviously it's not as hard to find as you keep saying...

Ouch getting outsold 5-1 and with the announcement of the price cut and Titansfall bundle that's not good for Microsoft

KakashiHotake2184d ago

Hopefully when Titan Fall comes out Xbox One can at least start keeping up with sales of the PS3.

OlgerO2184d ago

I hope that xbox one will sell, I want them to force playstation to stay at the top of their game

KakashiHotake2184d ago

Either that or maybe its just time for some new competition.

Kane222184d ago

that's the only thing im afraid of. Sony may get cocky again. that's what hurt them launching ps3. but hopefully they keep everything together and don't do stupid crap.

morganfell2184d ago (Edited 2184d ago )

When the PS2 was burying the competition, did Sony cease to innovate with the little black box?

The idea that competition is always good for the buyer is one of the great misleading statements of consumer affairs. It is true on occasion, just not all the time nor in every circumstance.

If developers were able to concentrate on one console alone without parsing off resources, the competition would then shift to where it should - between publishers and dev houses pushing that platform farther with the best title and the most features.

Every game for the PS4 would be an exclusive. Think about the innovation possible at that point.

MoonConquistador2184d ago

@kane22 - I personally can't wait for Sony to blunder again like they did with the PS3 as you see it.

The PS3 was and still is a fantastic console, even for the £425 I paid for the launch edition. I still feel I got way more than my moneys worth for it.

Kryptix2184d ago

I doubt they'll get arrogant again. Look at the PS2 and how well the PS1 did. I'm aware of what they did with the PS3 in the early days but I believe that one mistake gave Sony a better understanding of what people really want. And they always talk about how they want the PS4 to be like the PS2 all over again and Sony is known to keep most of it's promises and stay consistent.
