I wanted this game to be good. I really did. I wanted it to be good 12 years ago and I wanted it to be yesterday.
Digimon World is the first game based off of the once popular Japanese franchise….Kind of. What the game seems to be mostly based off of is the virtual pet toys that were similar to Tamagotchis. These toys were actually the starting point of Digimon and, from what I can tell, the game was developed and released before the anime in Japan, making the toys the closest thing to source material that the developers would have had to work with. So essentially, Digimon World is a game based off a different type of game, and it’s not all that good.

Anime was always so great, I just wish Digimon had a truly exceptional game out there.
I loved this game as a kid. Didn't like the 2nd, but the 3rd was everything I ever wanted out of Digimon. Never got a chance to play the others sadly.
Enjoyed the first and loved the third. Never played the second. I still have my DW3 disk and play it on my ps3 sometimes. The card game and getting every Digimon and their digivolutions maxed out was addicting. I spent so many hours on it. Would love for another game like it On ps4.
I think I remember this game, but the one I really remember was a 3v3 battle system where you were in some type of vehicle and had only a certain amount of "gas" or something. I really liked that one.
I absolutely loved the first and still play it to this day every so often.
