1 reason you should miss out on it $15 a month

GhostTurtle2776d ago

New to the mmo genre are you?

TheEnigma3132776d ago

$15 doesn't fly in this day and age. WOW is basically the only one that hasn't gone ftp.

GhostTurtle2776d ago (Edited 2776d ago )

@cochise

And why is that? Let me guess, b/c other games have dealt away with it? Total difference in a f2p mmo and a p2p mmo.

Summons752776d ago

yeah, heaven forbid they want to maintain servers and provided future updates and content...Darn those devs for caring about their game, the selfishness of devs is ridiculous /s

Roccetarius2776d ago (Edited 2776d ago )

The problem is that they already hinted at an early F2P conversion, so i wouldn't put too much faith in their sub model. It's mainly there for early cash, then switching later.

The reason people don't trust the model, is that the games rarely have content to keep the players. I'm all for equal playing field (subscription) but not the rest.

Psychotica2775d ago

You mean like any other game out there? GTA Online is doing that I am not paying a monthly subscription

Summons752775d ago

@psychotica

GTA online isn't an MMO its just a small portion of a game. Its completely different. No one complains about WoW or FF14 having a sub fee... you sound like a spoiled brat

Psychotica2775d ago (Edited 2775d ago )

Doesn't make one bit of difference what game type GTA online is. It's still a game that R* will continue to support with new content, maintain servers etc and they are not charging for it. No one complains about WoW or FF14, try all the people that have never played it because of the monthly fee. You are the one that sounds like the little school boy since you started with the name calling. Grow up..

aliengmr2775d ago

Except Guild Wars 2 provides consistent content with no monthly fee.

Seriously, these days, you don't actually have to charge $15 a month for an MMO.

I do think a subscription is still a viable model, but its one of many. I don't think they should charge $60 for the game and a sub after though.

Im almost certain this game will go F2P eventually. Only few MMOS managed to go well with P2P model (wow,ff14arr)

1) We can not choose our alliance which totally takes away from "our personal story and plot." For example did all the Bretons that were born and raised in Skyrim(some maybe even for generations) pack up and move to Highrock to be part of the "Breton" Alliance? I doubt it.

2) All of Tamriel is not open to the player because its not even finished. That doesn't seem very "sandbox" to me

3) PvP looks cool, point taken there

4) The class system is very restrictive. They should have laid out all the skill trees for everyone to use, like the weapons skill lines. If balance became an issue they could adjust them.

My friends and I are getting the game but I'm finished after a month along with most of the people I know.

Edit: spelling

Volkama2776d ago

You can choose your alliance, but only if you pre-order. Which is potentially a bigger problem imo, that kind of cash grab isn't a healthy sign.

DragonPs42776d ago

Final Fantasy 14 is my choice of subscription based mmorpg. I'll only pay for 1 mmo at anytime but from what I have played of elder scrolls online it stays true to the Elder Scrolls franchise.

I might buy it later on after I get tired of FF14.

Ares84HU2776d ago

Reason #1:

Don't have the time to invest in a MMO. Have a life to live.

Wish they just made another single player elder scrolls game.

Baka-akaB2776d ago (Edited 2776d ago )

I have enough reasons to miss it . I find it ugly from multiple feeds .... and instead of addressing issues like you not really affecting the world and making choices that matter beyond the skin of you faction's npc ... they basically populated the existing sandbox with more restrictions and people .

" the game is going to make sure that everyone who sets foot into the world is going to feel like a real hero."

All mmos claim that since WoW . And very few delivers . I dont believe a franchise that couldnt in SP , would suddenly in MP

Pass , it just isnt for me , and if needed i have the whole of pc mod community to enrich skyrim
