PlayStation Vita to Get “Over 100 Games” in 2014

Just like the PS4, Sony revealed today that the PlayStation Vita has “over 100 games” scheduled for release this year in North America, alongside the PlayStation Vita Slim Borderlands 2 bundle that will launch in North America (not just the US) this Spring for $199.99.

How many of them are not indie games. Let face it there haven't been any good games on PS Vita in the past 2 years and so far the line-up has been dissapointing just like Wii U's. Let's really hope PS Vita can get some good games this year.

And in addition to the ones you listed, for me amazing RPGs like Persona 4 Golden and the incredible graphics and replayability of Killzone: Mercenary for me.

Absolutely love Hot Shots Golf - still play that even though it came out long ago.

Also PSN games PixelJunk Monsters: Ultimate and Malicious Rebirth.

The only thing I'm every worried about with my Vita is if I remembered to charge it I have so much to play on it.

As mentioned above, Soul Sacrifice, Uncharted Golden Abyss, Gravity Rush, Tearaway, Killzone Mercenaries, Persona 4 Golden, (I'm including this because it's a remaster with HD visuals and added content) and Disgaea 4 Return (Same deal as above, new stuff added.)... Then there are ones people didn't mention... Ys Celceta, Unit 13, Demon Gaze, Trigger Happy Havoc. This isn't even including Japanese exclusives that might be localized. (Freedom Wars for example.) All of these are just exclusives. This isn't taking into account all the really great games that are coming out simultaneously with other console releases. Deception IV, Conception II, Atelier series, Hyperdimension series, etc.

So, no good games huh? You can't honestly say not one of those appeals to you. Considering they're all so very different.

I'd gobble up a Complete Dragon Age: Origins VITA port tho (as long as the performance is reasonable).

That's a lie! I just bought a Vita in December and there are too many freaking games to play!

I got it mostly for remote play since I travel a lot on the job. ButThe truth is that I've been playing more Vita games than PS3 or PS4. The library actually reminds me a lot of what was so great about the PS2 library.

So what if they are indie game's!, many indie games are fantastic, flower, flow, journey etc. prove's that budget invested into an ip does not = a level of what is a good game or what is not!

There is quite a problem in thinking that way, for instance the Unity 3D game engine, just went live for the PSVita and other Playstation platforms in late jan of this year!

even though Unity 3D went live for the WiiU much early than it has for playstations , many may say why would it help out the PSVita than it would for the WiiU.

Because the Unity 3D game engine is really set to make use of Arm Core Cortex processor's and those on board Arm powered Chips GPU's than it does for the WiiU, being that The WiiU is the only device that use's that the WiiU chipset.

While the PSVita, on the other hand has the same chipset slightly tweaked as the iPad 3's, even down to the iPad 3's GPU! that is exactly why The Unity 3D game engine has a much greater chance to help the PSVita than it does the WiiU.

That is what many i think still do not understand, the PSVita was designed just like the PS4, to be easy to include to development advance of more platforms for those iP's because they can cross develop for the PSVita like they already develop for the iPad 3!

We heard this last year and it turned out that 95% of them were small indie games, and many of them just weren't any good. I want to know how many proper, AAA games are coming to Vita this year. Indies are great, but I didn't spend $350+ just to only play indies. We need AAA games as well.

I'd agree with you, but given how some Xbox fans around here will definitely praise the 3DS instead of the Vita- and it's pretty evident this is only the case because Microsoft has no handheld- brand loyalty most certainly influences things, even as it pertains to markets your brand doesn't cater to.

I love the indie games and am especially interested in Skyhook coming this year, but let's face it, indies hardly move hardware. They're awesome for expanding the library, but it won't help the Vita succeed and consistently increase sales.

They try. Quite a lot. I still don't get how people don't automatically buy a VITA when they see GravityRush.

I have ps vital but for me vita is collecting dust. It has failed badly as a gaming portable handheld compare to 3DS. It really has very limited games. For those who think the PS+ is great.. its great only if you pay your subscription. Those games are not free. Don think that you own it as you are just renting.. PS Vital will be remembered as another gaming portable failure..

There are over 400 titles available worldwide for the Vita. If you can't find anything to play on that list then it says more about your gaming taste than it does about a lack of games.

Look i understand you want AAA game's on the PSVita,
everyone who owns one does, hell i do , but i also understand each of those AAA game development cost's not only in investment $$ but team size also along with time to triangle was like that of a living room console not really like a portable game console that does cost more investment, but when developer's can make a game work on the PS4 and for really no cost what so ever that same game can be streamed to the PSVita, do you not see that as exactly why these things are turning out like they are?

Again indie developer's "just starting Talent's today" are the AAA development Talent in the next few years.

Stop it, just stop defending Sony. Sony knew when they released the PS Vita that we the Gamers wanted more AAA Games. I doesn't matter how you spin it. If I paid $200 for this device than they can't just sit there decide will were just going to release a load of indie titles and only 2-3 AAA Games at the end of the year.

That's the problem that you don't seem to understand. It takes money to make money. All Sony had to do was advertise the hell out of the device and supported it with tons of first party support and then the Third Parties would be rolling with tons of support with the amount of PS Vita being sold. Sony again knew before the PS Vita was announced whether they had enough third party support or not. You don't just release a device at $250 and think that people are going to buy that and third parties developers are just going make tons of games for it. It might cost money but at least the PS Vita sales wouldn't be where it is today.

Who the F*** cares!!!, I know Sony is trying to support indie developers but look, PS Vita owners right now want games like inFAMOUS, Twisted Metal, Gran Turismo, GTA, Dead Space,Bioshock and more of those games. First of all, nobody told Sony to go up on that stage and promote indie games for an hour at E3, Second of all, they had every PS Vita owner hoping and waiting that at E3 2013 they would announce a lot of AAA Games but instead they barely talk about the PS Vita other than re-announcing the same games we already knew about. It's good that they want to promote indie games but I didn't buy my PS Vita to play as a OUYA Portable.

Oh my God it's not a perception. It's a fact that Indie games don't sale as much as a AAA game. You want to know why? because AAA games are more fun than indie games. It's not hurting us gamers, it hurting Sony when they can't even reach 10 million PS Vita's sold after being out 2 years on the market.

Again your response is exactly what i expected, im not defending Sony, its because unlike you i have 1st hand experience, i see many on here ask where are all these AAA games, but fail..and i do mean Fail with a big F to understand its Logistic's of Team size, and Money.

Development for the PSVita is nothing like the freaking Nintendo 3DS, for one the Nintendo 3DS does not need a team size to make a game for the 3DS that the PSVita in fact does need! They do not have the man power or the resources, to run as many AAA exclusives while the PS3 is still in the picture!

Do you not get that? you went on and on that sony should never of released the PSVita, and what be like Microsoft? with no physical Dedicated Mobile game console? If anything the reality of the situation is many complain the PSP got no support, the game card are too high, there was no dual thumb sticks.

Yet even now the Nintendo 3DS is the bench mark to what Sony should charge for a game handheld! So since they cannot make AAA games fast enough for gamer's the outrage over Sony trying to put out more game's for the d@mn system, and yet that's not enough for many it seems. The point is, Im betting Sony is tired of all this and from now on maybe a one market handheld is the way to go, maybe leave the dedicated Game handheld market to Nintendo and just go with smartphones and Tablets from now on.

And that is exactly what this market deserves because to many Gamer's today want every thing now, but Fail once again to understand that a game like Tearaway takes anywhere from 12 to 18 months! each game! and a man power size from 15 to 20 or more developer's to make a game like that!

The development team's are not freaking unlimited, at this point i doubt very much Sony wants to deal with this point anymore you keep saying sony better make this right, well you know what what exactly has the consumer done to make this right for making a dedicated handheld game system, than right now many gamer's say no one really want's anyway?

I own a Ps Vita and I know what games it has. But honestly a MAIN-ENTRY title from a established franchise would be nice. I will ask other Vita owners. How big is the list of games that are Ps Vita exclusive. No spin-offs, No ports. Just flat out build from the ground up Ps Vita games.
