If that is the case then why is there a LARGE dicrepancy in SW sales for GTA4.

Tell me then: If you deem that such statistical data representative of a G8 nation's gaming industry shouldn't be allowed on a website called NEWS4GAMERS, where do you recommend would be a more appropriate source?

Applying your logic, CNN and other news media should drop any stories relating to Liechtenstein, Barbados, or Palau because they represent such a minuscule portion of the Earth's population and - to borrow your phrase - are not critical for the survival of the world economy.

Europe is Sony's second home. The only country in Europe that has a strong 360 base is the UK and that's changing quickly. I hope your so objective when another '360 is outselling the ps3 by x to 1' article comes up next but I suppose you can always blame your response in that on articles like this.

in America, the NTSC standard is used (exclude HDTV's).

NTSC is 525 scanlines, at 30fps. Only 486 lines are actually visible.

By comparison, in Europe we use the PAL standard, thats 625 lines (576 visible) at 25fps,

So in comparison for years we Europeans have had a slightly better quality picture. We didn't hear any Americans making a big thing about this in the past though, I guess because those 80 odd extra lines in display and a slower Frames per second balanced out when compared to a lower resolution but higher frames per second, really didn't make that much of a difference, you getting my drift.

i.e. 640 lines at a more steady frames per second vs 720 lines but less steady frames per second and pop-in. Which would I choose now, yeah I'll go for the slightly lower resolution thats only noticed if you did a side by side comparison, but have the better and more consistent frames per second and less pop-in.
