Isn't this what was once on the PS3? I believe it was called Folding@home? Great Idea and well worth participating.

No, Folding At Home wasn't a game. It was just using PS3's to basically render out things until they found "folds" creating cancer cells.

I am actually surprised more research/problems ect aren't done by trying this approach of course it would have to be on a case by case basis.

Tedtalks described something similar albeit not cancer research i believe a yr or 2 ago. Why not put those idle minds to some problem solving use.
