‘Dying Light’ producer exclusively discusses Xbox One and PS4 features

In Dying Light, how the game plays will differ dramatically depending on the day/night cycle. In the daytime, focus will be placed on exploring the city in search of supplies. The undead are still dangerous during the day, but can be properly managed through combat or fleeing. When the sun goes down, however, the zombie threat increases as their numbers grow.

In an exclusive interview with Examiner.com, Techland Producer Tymon Smektala took the time to discuss many of the different elements which the developer is combining to create Dying Light. Smektala also spoke about developing the game across two console generations and what gamers can expect to be added to the Xbox One and PS4 versions.

Really looking forward to this game.

Bolts-N-Rays11094159d ago

Me too. I hope it brings more of a horror/scary element than the Dead Island series. The day/night cycle should help with that.

jimjam34424159d ago

i relly hope they can pull off the horror element, too many zombie games these days feel like target practice.

dazzrazz4159d ago

And I'll bet yo ass it will be Dead Island with parkour and nothing else

Heisenburger4159d ago

Pretty confident when it isn't one's own behind on the line, huh? Lol

I loved Dead Island co-op, and I'm very much looking forward to more co-op.

Muffins12234159d ago

I could never play Dead island. The combat felt boring, and the story/characters where shit. But this game looks allot more fun to play and looks allot nicer.

BitbyDeath4159d ago

Heard it was going to be free on PS4 anyway so no reason to not give it a shot.

Bolts-N-Rays11094159d ago

What? Where did you hear this?

BitbyDeath4159d ago

Tried looking for the article but cannot find it, maybe it was just a rumour in a random thread :-s

Sorry, take salt.

TheXgamerLive4159d ago

Hahaha No. This game would never be free on any consloe at release and no i guarante you never saw that posted anywhere on the internet.

OpieWinston4159d ago

Fanboy Alert? I think so!
You kids need to stop expecting free shit.

How do you expect the games to grow and flourish?

BlackTar1874158d ago (Edited 4158d ago )

lol at calling someone a fanboy for making a mistake about reading it for free somewhere.

The NEW XBOX FANS MANTRA: FREE GAMES ARE BAD

You guys are absurd in every sense of the word.

The irony at calling someone a kid and starting your post Fanboy Alert?

God the irony. You want to see Fanboy? Read thru OpieWinstons comment history.

"@maljiebeast
Did you just call him an immature kid and then referred him to screaming profanity to annoy people?

Irony?! #5.1.2

I played this at the Australian EB Game's EXPO. It plays exactly how it looks on the demo.

Probably one of my favourite games from the show.

Looking Back At The $386,000 Dying Light 'My Apocalypse Edition', 10 Years Later

Nobody bought it for an obvious reason.

Gamingsince1981127d ago

Wtf did this edition come with ? A real helicopter and a real zombie virus ?

Vithar127d ago

For one lucky person willing to spend $386,000, the My Apocalypse Edition of Dying Light promised a staggering collection. It included the buyer’s face in the game, a human-sized ‘Volatile’ statue, and parkour lessons with a freerunning team. It also came with night vision goggles, an all-expenses paid round trip to Techland’s offices, and four signed copies of the game. Oh, and it also came with a custom-built, ‘zombie-proof’ survival shelter.

LOL but it was a stunt from the team:
‘It was a PR stunt and got a lot of media attention for its wild and over-the-top nature, it was designed to generate buzz around the game’s release. It did a great job of getting the game noticed, though! But nobody purchased it – thankfully, I guess!’

I finally beat DL2 this past weekend. I’ll pick up the Beast for sure.

It got a lot of shit from fans more not being as scary at night on release. I was in that boat. But once I gave it a fair shot I really loved it. The movement was so much more expressive to me. I enjoyed the story too.... for the most part. Was my game of the year when it came out. With all the updates for darker nights and all that, it's even better. I feel almost exactly the same about stalker 2 right now. The erojank games are scratching my itch.
