This Clever PS4 Platformer Makes a Strong Case for the PlayStation Camera

Push Square: "Outside of free augmented reality application The Playroom – and a selection of nefarious online streams – Sony’s yet to really make a compelling case for the existence of the PlayStation 4’s enhanced EyeToy-esque camera. However, that’s not stopping German outfit Grandé Games from having a crack, with its upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive Commander Cherry's Puzzled Journey."

This game honestly makes me want to get a PS4 PlayStation camera. I mean it's kind of expensive just to buy it for one game, but hopefully more innovative stuff can follow in the footsteps of this game!

Kingthrash3604164d ago

good luck, a friend of mine wants one but cant find them anywhere.

krouse934164d ago

Oh wow, I didn't realize they were selling so well... That bodes well for future titles and apps!

Kingthrash3604164d ago

i was surprised myself..i got mine early so i havent had to look for one. when my homie finally got his ps4 in december he has been looking for them since...no luck to this day

Hicken4163d ago

I wonder how many units the camera has sold. Is it possible more PSEyes have been sold than XB1s? Wouldn't that be a kick in the nuts?

abzdine4163d ago

it certainly didn't impress me but i can see good possibilities going out of this. a bit like binary 0 and 1 generating everything else. the basic idea is the hardest one to find.

Sorry but this looks like garbage lol.
I'm sure more clever uses of the camera have been thought up and implemented than this. The Playroom itself is better, like waaay better.

Maybe my expectations were too high, I wasn't expecting that at all.

Standing in poses to make platforms is not my idea of fun or innovative.

GameSpawn4163d ago

Garbage yes, but most games start out like this.

Remember it is possible to polish a turd:

I'm glad this is just a concept, because if this EVER was made into a final game it sure needs a boatload of polish.

@gold5225. The irony is that Microsoft heavily promoted the Kinect as a feature of the Xbone, and charged $100 more for it but didn't release any games for it. Sony didn't focus on marketing their camera but Twitch streaming and the Playroom have become a cult hit and this has created a demand.

kinect sport rivals and microsoft fitness is a decent start.

Mr Pumblechook4163d ago

@t-hall785. Kinect Sports Rivals is not available to purchase. It's release was delayed for quality control reasons.

Nanux4164d ago

Nice i bought camera because indie can make fun games on it ;)

Utalkin2me4164d ago (Edited 4164d ago )

You bought a camera, cause you had the option too =).

Bathyj4164d ago

I think George Lucas is gonna sue somebody.

Lionsguard4164d ago

Why? He doesn't own Star Wars anymore. I think you mean Disney is going to sue someone and before they sue, I'm sure they'll just send a cease and desist.

Bathyj4164d ago

True forgot about that, but I was actually quoting Jay and Silent Bob Strike back. ;)

SaveFerris4164d ago

I'd buy it if it came with the horse head.
