PS Vita Slim screen comparison video – how does LCD stack up to OLED?

OPM: Here’s a PS Vita Slim screen comparison video showing how the new, cheaper LCD stacks up to the old OLED screen. I check out some of the menus, play a game – what do you think?

One small mistake Sony made when changing over was that screen colour boot up. There are many people convinced that the grey is simply blue but washed out. I wonder why they didn't make it boot up to blue? Having said that, I wonder why they didn't change it to blue in this video?

They might of done that for people to be able to tell which Vita model it is, but I understand what you're saying. Also, it would have been a better idea for him to change it to blue. I personally don't see the difference being big enough for anyone to care too much.

i think its i only a video playing on my MONITOR, ...so i cant see how the OLED really look so its pointless.(look how this 4K tv look on your old 1080p tv!!isnt that beautiful)?

lol, anyway owning a launch psvita i do love my OLED screen and would never change it for the lcd slim model.

Maybe they did it not as a mistake but intentionally to make the colors of the icons POP out better. I have a Vita now but I'm really thinking about getting another.

It still looks good.

I'm not as worried now. It's definitely noticeable, but nothing that ruins the experience of playing games on a Vita.

I wonder how different FFX looks on the normal vs slim.

In all honesty an OLED screen is wasted on a 5" Screen.

I am referring to OLED in general on any small mobile device, hence the reason why companies are stepping back away from OLED on the small screens, like guess who... Oh yeah Sony!

Not at all. The Galaxy 3 with the 4.7 inch 720P super oled screen and the Galaxy 4 with the 5.0 inch 1080P super oled are extremely nice in person and are reviewed as having some of the best mobile screens.

The Vita not even being 720P is a joke.

oled is nice, lcd is another version of nice. i like both, a switch to lcd isn't worse imo

I like how we are trying to analyze the difference between OLED and LCD, using LCD's not capable of the contrast available in an OLED.

Keeping my original... I want the extra battery & storage but I'm not giving up my oled for it.. I'll be buying that 64gb card soon
