On topic: It's a big deal when the console that is $100 more expensive is already showing signs of graphical inferiority this early in the generation. When choosing which console to invest 100's of £/$ into, you want the one that's going to stand the test of time for the longest.

Last Gen Xbox fanboys- "360 multiplats have better lighting, resolutions,framerates, PS3 multiplats suck!"

Current gen Xbox fanboys - " I can't even tell the difference between 720p and 1080p, i play games not resolution, it's not a big deal, only exclusives matter now!"

Obviously it's a bigger deal if you are on the end with the better numbers. If you are an Xbox One user what else can you really say other than it doesn't matter? I mean is Tomb Raider suddenly unplayable at only 30fps? Is the game suddenly broken or garbage on the Xbox One because it runs better at 60fps on the PS4? Wasn't the game only 30fps on the PS3 and 360 and yet was still a GOTY contender?

Sure it sucks that you pay more and get less in terms of raw performance, but the Xbox One users have chosen their bed, now they have to lie in it. But that doesn't mean that they still can't enjoy their games.

I didn't insinuate any of the things you just said, i was just stating that it does matter when we are spending so much money and then stating how it's funny that because multiplats now look better on PS4, X1 fans dismiss the importance of resolutions and framerates.

They can be in denial about the power gap all they want, it doesn't change the fact that you bought a graphically inferior machine for $100 more.

$100 is not a big deal these days for a gaming machine your prolly gonna play the next 7 years. Xb1 isn't expensive it's just PS4 is really cheap. I bought an xb1 cause I really like the game line up, but I think PS4 is an amazing machine for price. If I see some games that interest me on that I can see myself buying it also.

How does a weaker system overtake a more powerful one when it comes to visuals? It just isn't possible.

Here's an example, the PS2 was weaker than the Xbox but did it ever produce superior multiplats? The answer is no.

This is just something you have to accept.

For arguments sake, let's assume you are right and in 2015 MS suddenly announce a special chip hidden away in the X1 that boosts the performance of the console beyond that of the PS4. By then the PS4 will have an 8 - 10 million lead in console sales, be dominant in Europe and Japan, and will be cheaper. It won't make a damned bit of difference how powerful the X1 gets by then, devs will just cater to the PS4 and this mythical X1 behemoth in waiting will get dumbed down version of games.

Damn, I've just given MisterX a headline for 2015.

The only reason that the X1 is getting gimped is because most 3rd party devs are too lazy to use whatever the x1 has to their advantage. That's why we have games like Ryse and Quantum Break and yes Sunset Overdrive also that will show that you should definitely not underestimate what little power that you think the X1 has.

Half y'all seem to forget that a lot of the games that are being made for X1 are more than likely using graphics setups from the consoles first "TIER" programming...."2nd TIER" programming when they start to utilize it will be a different story...and so will the PS4's, if there is a big gap then when that happens than I'll agree with the differences :-)

It wont be a big deal for most people as the primary reason people buy these systems is for exclusives. People who want Gears and Halo will get an XB1 and people who want Uncharted and God of War will get a PS4.

People who want both will get both (Me)

Game exclusivity trumps resolution and frame rate for prudent gamers.

Its a big deal if you are a PS4 owner and if you bought the XB1 then you are trying to defend your system any way you can. Human nature at its finest. No one wants to believe their purchase was the lesser of the two. XB1 will do well with their exclusive games and that is why they are nailing down console exclusitivity like Titanfall and Gears because they know it will help them to combat the power gap between them and the PS4. In the end PS4 will amaze gamers and critics alike as they start to release their amazing looking exclusives showcasing the unreal power of the PS4. This is going to be a very interesting generation.
