This remix of fast-paced shoot 'em up Hypership Out of Control should satisfy new players, but those expecting a true sequel will be let down.
Twinfinite sits down with Trivia or Die! creator Kris Steele to discuss indie games, the Ouya and more.
Trendy Gamers: Developer Fun Infused Games certainly don’t beat around the bush when it comes to naming their games. In Hypership Still Out of Control, you take control of a hypership that’s–well, out of control. Still, this aptly named follow-up to their previous game, Hypership Out of Control, will have you flying through asteroid fields and various structures mysteriously floating around in space. You’ll speed through these harsh environments with no brakes and an accelerator that can’t be disengaged. The game looks and plays like a classic arcade shooter, and it doesn’t take itself all that seriously.
Oh no! Your space ship’s brakes have failed (still) and there is apparently no other way to offer counter resistance (still) so as a result you will only continue to build speed (still) until you meet an object that can slow you down (i.e. kill you). Also, there are space god coins to collect and obstacles like asteroids and big blocks to avoid. Race through ten waves of peril in an attempt to achieve a high score that you can hold over your friends, or your dog if you have no friends, but your dog probably isn’t very good at the game so it is a hollow victory.
