3D Galaxy Force II Review - PixlBit

PixlBit | "Looks can be deceiving, particularly in the case of 3D Galaxy Force II. After watching a bit of footage of the game, I thought I was in for a fantastic Star Fox-like experience, piloting through space, taking down enemies and battling epic bosses at the conclusion of each level. While these are things you’ll do throughout the game, it never exhibits the finesse of the Star Fox series and the imprecise controls ensure that most players aren’t going to get much out of this particular 3D Classic."

3D Galaxy Force II review [Nintendo Insider]

Nintendo Insider writes:

Complete the game and you unlock the unaltered original arcade version which makes for an interesting comparison, although, as a whole, 3D Galaxy Force II presents another treasured reminder of the insurmountable SEGA of yesteryear, updated for the modern age.

Review: 3D Galaxy Force II (Pure Nintendo)

Pure Nintendo: "Galaxy Force II is a short but sweet sci-fi blast! Once again M2 has done an astonishing job, and with their efforts is it any wonder that they’ve been receiving so much praise from critics and gamers alike!?! This is a fun and impressive game that really surprised me, and you’ll definitely want it downloaded on your 3DS!"

Weekly Digital: You scored 50,000 points on Double Dragon?

"Nevermind the fact that there was no way Jimmy could have gotten that many points that early in Double Dragon. The NES port of the arcade classic is now available for five Abrahams on the Wii U eShop.

Just keep in mind that the NES port didn’t feature simultaneous two-player co-op, so if you wanted to play with a friend you’ll have to wait for the superior Double Dragon II.

3DS users can celebrate the addition of the Miiverse and a unified Nintendo Network account, while engorging on Sega’s 3D Classics revamps of Ecco the Dolphin and Galaxy Force II. I bet the former game’s final boss looks even creepier with the 3D cranked all the way up.

On the PlayStation side of things, PS Plus users have Borderlands 2 for free, in addition to a ton of Holiday Sales. Spelunky for $3.75 on PS Vita sounds great.

Steam got a batch of new releases this week, with the most questionable one being Marc Eckō’s Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure. Remember that one? It’d be wiser to stick to the Strike Suit Zero half-off deal they’ve got going right now." - Patrick Kulikowski

I was randomly thinking about the original arcade DD the other day.

Anyone else ever go through the whole game in 1986 doing 95% elbows while backwards?

Yea... good old times. I did the head butt all the way as well lol.

Also, just letting people know that they released the Double Dragon trilogy on iPhone/iPad recently for anyone who wants a trip down memory lane. It's the arcade version and not the NES crap. :)

It has been confirmed that Double Dragon for 3DS VC supports download two player co-op with only one version of the game.

Naturally, game "journalists" online never confirm anything they say.
