from other cultures may articulate what they say one way and people interpret it in a completely different manner not understanding different points of view.

hideo is a very modest man(alot of the japenese culture are) but they also fail to understand other peoples cultures and how ignorant they can be but then again, i guess were all un-knowing to certain attributes of other cultures. but this should be an example of understanding other cultures and people should take this knoweledge beyond just n4g because this can do alot for you.

and before anyone jumps on me with there "american patriotism", i am american

WIIIS15828d ago

So bragging in the Japanese way is also known as modesty?

hotshot1275828d ago

differentely in west so people could understand him better but what he really meant is that, the american jounalist interpret what he said last time as if he was saying mgs4 sucks and thats not what he was saying at all. so another words, in order for americans to understand that hes proud of his game, he has to be arrogant about it. something he doesnt have to be in japenese culture because they undertand him.

you are an example of someone interpretating something somebody else says wrong. you need to really read deep into what somebodys saying because other wise, you'll be lost again

justgamez5828d ago

You need to learn the difference between bragging and pride. There is nothing wrong with taken pride in your hard work and not having that hard work and information you share possibly misinterpreted.

I myself am not a big fan of MGS or Hideo Kojima's efforts but I am a fan of Japanese work ethics.

GavLam885828d ago

How can you honestly differentiate between, bragging and pride. With a lot of developers they will simply brag about there game for the media to hype. Of course there is nothing wrong with developers taking pride in there work, because it takes a great deal of effort, but just accept the fact that different cultures having different ways of displaying this pride. Hideo knows that he doesn't have to glorify this game, because as soon as someone plays it, they will appreciate it for what it is. Japanese seem to be very modest people who portray there accomplishments with results and are always seeking improvement.

barom5828d ago

Ya know, this was translated by some guy on a forum. I suggest ya be careful before judging Kojima. The way it's worded over in Japan may not be the same here. And the meanings might be misguided.

Just like it has in the past.

LastDance5828d ago

who has the rights to brag more then hideo kojima..?

this man has created a series that is unmatched in the game world, and rivals some of the best in the movie world.

"Metal Gear started stealth action and Splinter Cell is f*cking it up, Msg4 will be the greatest game of the saga"

Hideo Kojima

JasonPC360PS3Wii5828d ago

You mean like when Metal Gear copied Splinter Cell's over the shoulder view? Look it up, even the MGS3 devs admited it.

How do you feel now?

riqued5828d ago

So MGS4 uses a gameplay element which is on many games today.. and Splinter Cell copies a entire concept...

FOXDIE5828d ago

"You mean like when Metal Gear copied Splinter Cell's over the shoulder view? Look it up, even the MGS3 devs admited it."

Actually its from graw (Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter), and so what? There is absolutely nothing wrong of following a good concept.

But don't forget that MG (Metal Gear) is the game that defines the stealth genre, all the way back from the MSX till today.

yeah right, I don't care if you are American or whatever, if you consistently over generalize a whole group of people as diverse as Americans as being "ignorant" then it just tells the world alot more about you(hotshot) then the whole people group of people you pointed the finger at. Furthermore if Hideo does an interview for the western press all they can do is translate his words, nobody knows what he *meant to say, he said what he said if its inaccurate thats one thing but don't blame Americans because he *meant something different. When he described;

“The PS3 is a movie theater,” “Xbox 360 is watching a DVD at home. It's for people who want to watch a movie, but anything is okay. The Wii is a television program. You turn on the television, and you can watch soccer or watch a variety show -- enjoy a program lightly."
http://www.gamasutra.com/ph...

ha ha well I guess thats the "modesty" that only Japanese have, coming from a guy making a exclusive game for the ps3. lmfao, people are people and they will say whatever benefits them, just like Kojima always does.

Ace Ventura5828d ago

Man, you know it all. You're so smart.

hotshot1275828d ago

did you even read my comment correctly. maybe if you would have read into it. you would realize that i also said we are all ignorant to certain things. i used americans but OBVIOUSLY im not talking about every single american out there because i live in america and i have american friends who are definetely not ignorant to understanding that people have different ways of communicating.

do you even know what ignorant means? all it means is "un-knowing" which means EVERYBODY is ignorant to something. it just happened to be that americans are usually the ones who are more un-knowing to things because of the way american media is set up where all everyone does is watch t.v and play games. its not my fault, i did'nt butter up my comment to make everyone on this site happy like alot of you do.

i come on this site to make points.....not to add "GAME ON" or "we all win" at the end of my comments so people can give me bubbles and be happy with what i say

clintos595828d ago

Atleast when kojima says something out, he says it with class and poetry because thats what he is all about. Unlike some devs which say, "Its Bigger & Badder". lmao and yet killzone 2 looks bigger and badder. :)

Ace Ventura5828d ago

I was being sarcastic. This guy is a 360 fanboy and would say anyhting. PS3 has all the good news. 360 is a sinking ship. They know it. Thats why they leave comments like this fool. MGS4 will speak for itself.

cyclindk5828d ago

That was a clever comeback...

travelguy2k5828d ago

is not like doing math, there are inflections and different meanings to many words. Take sarcasm...when you write it, its hard to tell, you need to know HOW it was said, words on a page do not tell the whole story.

devilhunterx5828d ago

xb2 = american made. loud. dies quickly.

ps3 = japanese made. silent. lives longer.

EKWB reportedly plagued with financial disarray many gaming pc's left without parts

EK Cooling allegedly has slipped itself into a hot soup of seemingly endless financial woes, where it has not paid its staff, suppliers, and contractors for many months as the company is facing liquidity problems and a surplus of inventory left unsold, stuck in the warehouse for a more extended period. Gamers Nexus investigated these claims made by former and current personnel, where he found trails of unpaid bills lasting as long as three to four months and unpaid raises that accumulated for almost a year.

EK Water Blocks has two entities—a Slovenian-based headquarters and a US-based subsidiary, EK Cooling Solutions. Steve narrated the series of events in detail, stating that the company was reportedly irresponsible and negligent regarding payment. Consequently, partners and employees are forced to share the burden of alleged mismanagement. It all begins with its extensive range of products, leading to a surplus of goods. EK has over 230 water blocks, 40 liquid cooling kits, 85 reservoirs, 40 pumps, 73 radiators, and 212 miscellaneous accessories.

Yes this is not about video games directly but indirectly this will impact the pc gaming/workstation space hard.

This company is massive one of two in the water cool space so if it goes poof then thousands out there have no spare parts or half built computers.

SO yeah i know not about a video game but think of it as amd leaving the pc space but this is ekwb that could be leaving water cooling in the pc space

Jayz2cents a supporter of there products also has issues

As someone that has built a watercooling rig. EK is big, but there's so many numerous watercooling part companies out there. EK's stuff isn't exactly amazing quality for the price compared to others either, it's just ok. Much like Corsair. The impact would be negligible long term. For perspective the majority of my parts are XSPC, at most I use EK for my gpu waterblocks and fittings. Both easily replaceable.
