I played the JPN demo a few months ago. It's very much a Monster Hunter clone, and I mean that in a good way. Even the weight of the weapons, the way you dodge-roll, the way monsters soak up damage, the way you gather from the environment, etc feels nearly identical to MH.

Studio-YaMi3803d ago (Edited 3803d ago )

That's GREAT to know!
I mean seriously with Capcom being d*cks and not releasing a MH game for the PS Vita or PS3/PS4(excluding the MH game for PS3 that was only released in Japan),then this will be a great fill up.

I really hope it sells well in NA & Europe.

Lord_Sloth3803d ago

Especially great since Crapcom decided to jump ship to Nintendo leaving the rest of us comfused and without MH.

dedicatedtogamers3803d ago

^^^ Yeah, if you're looking for your MH fill, this is definitely it.

Last year, Soul Sacrifice came out and it was...kinda like MH, but it was very different in a lot of ways. This game is a straight-up clone (with a few differences, obviously). Once people play the demo tomorrow you'll see what I mean.

Holy crap! do you need any more bubbles?
Back to the topic, I played the JPN demo as well but i couldnt read Japanese text but from the looks of things I can tell you that its a lot better than Soul Sacrifice. Dont get me wrong, Soul Sacrifice is a fantastic game, but its not Monster Hunter.

Can't wait to try it and see what the rave is about.

Debating between this and Ragnarok Odyssey Ace. I'm glad that we're getting a demo.

admiralvic3802d ago

Toukiden is a better game if you like Monster Hunter. If you just want to hack and slash things, then you'll like Ace more.

hulk_bash19873802d ago

Thanks for the advice, I can't wait to give it a try.

admiralvic3802d ago

No problem. Figured it might help, since I imported the Toukiden Vita (the literal Vita) and platinumed Ragnarok Odyssey. Big fan of the genre and love to help people out with it. :3

Wish there were some TV ads or something on this game. This game looks amazing.

Lord_Sloth3803d ago (Edited 3803d ago )

I meant to click agree but my phone is stupid. =[ Have a bubble.

Nucler1003803d ago

Lol thanks, its all good

Totally agree with you, It seems that Sony always fail to advertise PS Vita games. I honestly dont remember any TV advertisement for PS Vita games. Anyone can link me to a couple?

10 PlayStation Vita Sales Success Stories

VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "A recent piece of news doing the rounds revealed the PlayStation Vita’s top 10 selling games in the United States of America, and it makes for some grim reading. While Uncharted: Golden Abyss rightfully tops the list, it only managed to shift a little more than 400k copies in the States, which is low by the series’ standards and paints a dire picture overall given that it's above all other AAA titles on the list, including Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation, Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified, and Ki llzone Mercenary (although it’s worth noting that this top 10 doesn’t include any bundled software, otherwise  Borderlands 2 would be at the top and Call of Duty at #2)."

I would think Uncharted Abyss and Killzone Mercenaries should be included in the list.

10 Franchises That Flourished on Vita

VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "the handheld was unable to attract certain types of software – western AAA development quickly evaporated, as did Sony’s own support, because there weren’t enough consoles out there for such titles to be profitable. But that doesn’t mean that every publisher failed to find success. Indeed, there are a number of franchises out there that have been able to appeal to the Vita’s niche and which have seen positive sales numbers and critical reception, leading to them becoming mainstays on the handheld.

It’s these series that I intend to examine in more depth this article – what they are, what entries we’ve seen, what success they’ve had, and what it’s meant for the console’s future. I’ll be using known sales figures where possible to back things up, hopefully demonstrating that the Vita has been a solid home for a number of great series despite its otherwise weak commercial performance on the market."
