4 suggestions for improvements to the Xbox One

The launch honeymoon for Microsoft’s latest console has passed, and with that comes a hard look at what the Xbox One really needs next.

If you are one of the more than three million users with a pair of glowing “X” icons gracing their entertainment centre, there’s a good chance you have a suggestion (or two) for Microsoft about how the Xbox One can be improved. While we continue to work our way through the launch titles and get to know the console, there’s more than a couple of features that are just plain missing. Microsoft could dramatically improve the overall user experience if the company fixed these issues as quickly as possible.

I dont think dumping the Kinect is a necessity. I find me using the Kinect more than the controller to scroll through the menus at times.

How could MS leave out so many "duh" features on their Xbox One? It boggles my mind.

They have a great UI on the 360 it should have been obvious what to port over to the Xbox One. But then again these guys were pushing their Metro/Win 8 agenda so hard that it shouldn't really boggle the mind...but it does.

Kill the Kinnect, drop the price, MAKE original games instead of just buying what looks good, stop selling crappy systems that break down, and stop treating your customers like crap, then maybe myself and more people might buy one.

The two things I need from MS to make me buy an XB1.

One is confidence in the long term support of the console to deliver the types of games I want to play. It's got off to a good start with the launch releases - but I need to know it's going to continue after year 3 / 4.

The original Xbox failed as it was only supported 4 years. The 360 failed as I didn't buy a single game after 2009... So I'm taking a cautious approach to the XB1.

I have no issue with Kinect as a device, but I do have issue with it as a strategic direction toward casual gamers (if that is the path MS continue to follow this gen).

The other thing holding me back is what the roadmap for TV integration outside of the US is. Right now many people are having issues with the jitter as the XB1 doesn't support the different refresh rates in Europe. Also, the options and TV integration in UK appears to be pretty lightweight compared to the US - and that US-centric approach puts me off.

In regards to the TV stuff MS makes me feel like the old days when Europe would get games months after the Japan / US launches. Now we've moved to global game launches, but staggered roll-outs of core (and heavily advertised) functionality.

How to recruit Lam in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes

Lam is among the 120 characters available for recruitment in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. While she is one of the many straightforward recruits, a known bug may prevent players from recruiting her if certain conditions are met. Despite developers’ assurances of fixing the bug, some early access players still encounter issues with recruiting Lam despite attempting the standard method.
