It's an hoenst question asked on the internet. Your question could have been avoided with a simple google search.

You coming to comment section to ask the question, on a vita article may I add, makes it all the more sarcastic.

There are plenty of news revolving around the PS Vita, including the 14/14 sale happening on PSN now.

There are plenty of Vita games coming and annouced, including a new persona rythmn game, DBZ coming in just 2 weeks (which looks awesome), and many more.

Let's not forget but the awesome mini Age of Zombies was re-released for Vita to include trophies and dual analog support, and a few weeks back Mutant Mudds (which is an amazing game)and terraria....

Also Persona 4 is on sale on psn people should check it out:)

so it's out then how do we get it?

Anon19744169d ago

From what I understand you have to sign up as a Playstation developer. Once your status is approved and you jump through all the hoops, I'm assuming it will be available through Sony's DevNet. It's not there currently although there is a spot you can click to have Sony send an email to Unity to confirm your developer status. Not sure if that's all there is to it though. I'm currently waiting for a response from our Sony account manager after I emailed about this very topic this afternoon.

LKHGFDSA4169d ago

wish it was cracked, I heard you have to pay $80.000+ for the license. (for PS3 games, that's not counting publishing etc.)

redtideone114169d ago (Edited 4169d ago )

you have to be signed up as a PlayStation developer (psm. you will have to sign up as beta tester in February current developers have to sgin up for the beta and register a current psm app. Great one I am not that good at making games two I just want to make 3d meshes and test them on my ps vita. ps vita is so boring with out games.

You never see anything close to these tech demos in actual game releases. More fluff than anything.

How does it feel to not be in the sequel to your own franchise? Their virtue signal will cost them sales

Yi-Long267d ago

I think Unity exposed themselves last year, and IMO any developer should just stay away from them completely.

isarai266d ago

Exactly my thoughts, they killed so much interest in their engine since doing that. Godot looks like it's rising to take it's place as the indie darling game engine.

Palitera265d ago (Edited 265d ago )

In its current pace, Godot would need decades to reach Unity's current state. Almost no studios use it. For hobbyists, it's a valid option, though.
Gotta be real about it: Unity was and will continue as the market leader for small studios. There's no competition in this sense.

Palitera265d ago

The thing is: there's nothing even remotely as good as Unity for small studios game development, even if you consider the company's disgraced trust.

So, sure, it's your opinion, but most professionals have not and will not leave Unity.

And Godot is a hobby project in comparison, not even an option.

victorMaje265d ago (Edited 265d ago )

The thing is: this is the kind of comment Unity was getting when it was up and coming.
I remember when I started learning Unity it was looked at with disregard, this is where Godot is now, remember this, in a few years, Godot will get there.

plmkoh264d ago

@victorMaje

I hope you realize how ridiculous your comments sounds when you suggest "Waiting for Godot" is an option.

It made me chuckle for a good 20 seconds.

victorMaje264d ago

@plmkoh

Haha I’m not suggesting to wait for it. I’m saying with all the updates (each one better than the previous one) Godot will get where it needs to, to be considered more than just a hobby engine.
In fact it can already do a lot, it’s all about how you approach the problem.

Palitera264d ago

PlayCanvas, Babylon, Defold, Cocos Creator etc.
This generic statement of "it's not as great as Unity YET" could be applied to any other engine (no offense to these mentioned great engines).

The fact is: it is a hobby engine, almost no studio is using it. As much as I'd like to see Unity fall, it's not happening at all. There's simply no competitor.

I guess it bite them in the ass. Pretty sure it's still too late and those who were burned by it, will not come back.

Hmm.
They may just remain a company after all. They lost a lot of good faith with all this, however.

Exclusive: Unity Software cutting 25% of staff in ‘company reset’ continuation

Jan 8 (Reuters) - Videogame software provider Unity Software (U.N) will target laying off approximately 25% of its workforce, or 1,800 jobs, the company said in a regulatory filing and internal company memo on Monday.

They wanted everyone to move to Unreal 5 and GoDot 4.

UltimateOwnage524d ago

What a waste. And despite all of this cut and slash, their polices are doubling down on what led to all of this. They have committed themselves to bring a losing brand going forward. Good riddance. Maybe Microsoft will buy them out, they seem to have a lot in common.
