We all want Motorstorm 2 to innovate over the great original (which won official Racing Game Of The Year for 2007 at the AIAS in Feb. 2008).

Thanks my friend, you were indeed right. Not only that vid suffered from off-screen quality and the gameplay vid didn't show much of new features, it's clear that I was just expecting a bit too much and seriously, the game looks really promising.
Tough love indeed :)

Original MotorStorm ROCKED and was IMO is worthy of that award. Can't wait for this one. Hope we can both enjoy it as much as the uber fun original.

The simple fact that they are including more tracks, split screen and destructible environments pretty much guarantees you'll have more fun then the first.

More tracks and split-screen are huge pluses for me (I don't care about multi player unless it's via split-screen).
The off screen footage was really misleading. Can't wait.

screen offline as well. I played the first game online a little but, I always wanted to play against friends when they came over. Now, I'll get to do that.

yeah ... the first footage didn't do it justice. Same with RFOM. In fact the only game I've ever seen that looks better then things out while still in ALPHA/BETA stages is KZ2. (which seems to be in a league of it own right now)

haha i was looking for MK_red just to show him this vid. As it is now at 40% completion, i am sure despite the density being added the visuals will surpass MS1.

From the way things are looking, MS2 could easily take racer of the yr for 2008. We have to wait for release to really know if it lives up to expectations but not that many strong racing games this yr. GT5P won't get it because its a prologue but GT5 is getting it next yr and any other racing title coming out nxt yr should just come prepared to loose to GT5

This is indeed beyond promising. Gameplay wise I'm still not sold. Didn't like the monster truck but the old MotorStorm cars still rock.

MotorStorm 2 indeed has a strong chance but let's not forget about Midnight Club LA though it may be delayed till 2009.

You only have to wait a second for MGS friggen 4! On top of that you have to only wait 8 months for KILLZONE2. 6 For resistance 2, and however long for Motorstorm.

Some of us have been sittin around drooling since 2005. Imagine some guy who just picks up a ps3 in Feb for say... Warhawk or something. Then his friend says "hey have you checked out killzone2?" And he can just go to the store and buy it. NOT FAIR..

I demand a time machine.

there's a bigger library to choose from now but, I'm glad I got mine on the US launch. Honestly, I had sooooo much fun with RFOM and Motorstorm I wouldn't have wanted to wait. It would have only saved me 100 bucks anyway. Definitely not worth months of gaming fun. Plus ... I still think the 60 gig is the best model.

You forgot to mention the awesome LittleBigPlanet. This game is a GOTY contender, and will sell many-a-PS3's. LBP will offer over 100 hours of playing and creating alone! These gamers may even have a cheaper console by October. But they have to find all those hours to play all these games..lol

Then all the Blu-ray's. The awesome catalog titles plus NEW MOVIES THIS SUMMER: Indiana Jones 4, Iron Man, Dark Knight (Batman), The Incredible Hulk, WALL-E, The Happening (from the director of Sixth Sense) coming by Fall on Blu. Then titles like: Batman Begins (july 8), Transformers, Top Gun, Risky Business, etc. all coming to Blu-ray this summer! There will be over 1,000 movies by years end!

Awesome Games. Pixel Perfect Movies. Endless Entertainment. But Find The Hours Please...lol

Thats kind of like me actually, I bought the ps3 at first for Warhawk and then I bought Oblivion, then UT3, pixel junk monsters, COD4 and now GTAIV. My collection is growing faster than when I had a ps2 and I havent really regreted any of my buys except maybe when I first bought UT3, I was expecting an updated version of UT 2004 but it's kind of different however I've grown to like it. Next up its Haze and MGS4 although its gonna take me a while to finish GTA and I havent finished Oblivion yet...

but 40% complete is a reference to the entire game.

That could mean the games graphics are 90% complete but they have only 2 of 6 modes and 3 of 8 maps, and 8 of 20 cars complete. Honestly the numbers are just a way to induce more confusion and arguments between faction members in the console war. (in my opinion they shouldn't bother with it, I mean it gets the hype train rolling and that hype is why games score worse then they should)

I know the game will have improvements graphically (even though it looks absolutely amazing right now) I just think people are expecting a little too much in terms of how much the graphics will improve.

I disagree with you. I think the little things are still not in this build. They can make a huge impact on a game. Just give it some time and see where it goes. The first game was amazing and i don't see any reason why fans shouldn't get excited about what the final product will be like.
