How to Become The Elder Scrolls Online's Emperor

Developer explains how to become Emperor of Tamriel and what it means.

rextraordinaire3915d ago

Meh. At 15$ a month, I see no reason to play this. Graphics are not good so far, gameplay looks half done...

kazuma9993915d ago

Agreed and hope other mmorpg makes it to ps4 that is for free like warframe and warthunder.

ZodTheRipper3915d ago (Edited 3915d ago )

I would scream like a little girl if TES:6 gets announced ...but "meh" is also my reaction for Elder Scrolls: Online.
To me, it's a game noone asked for. The magic of the Elder Scrolls games is something that can't be replicated in a MMORPG even though it looks like a good effort.

Dehnus3915d ago

@ZOD18
Actually it can be replicated very well. The thing is you need to let go of three big factions and allow for smaller factions per region to choose from for your PVP experience. That way you can just join what you like, and go around with your character and group the way you feel like it.

YellowTempes3912d ago

Sure, Warframe is so awesome as you can only play one class and have like 5 weapons for free at most. Add this to the most repetitive gameplay ever and it makes for the most boring 2-hour gaming experience.

GentlemenRUs3915d ago

Bingo!

I think the online game is just a waste of time... Why not just make a singleplayer with co-op in it...

JsonHenry3915d ago

Because then they couldn't charge $15 a month. duh!

KRUSSIDULL3915d ago (Edited 3915d ago )

That's what we wanted but didn't get.

frostypants3915d ago

Because they began development on this before people fully appreciated the serious limitations of MMORPGs.

geddesmond3915d ago

You'll get one month free with your purchase. If you don't like it after that then theres no reason to subscribe again. But if you do like it then you can resubscribe.

I have never played an MMORPG for long than the 30 free days mainly because after that I have played so much of it that I get bored of it.

Anyone who likes the Elder scrools world will want to play this. So if you don't like it then it's no lose to the fans that do or to Bethesda.

rextraordinaire3915d ago

I do love the Elder Scrolls. I played skyrim until my save file got too heavy to even load my game. that's a good 200+ hours (Yeah, ps3 version and all that's broken with it).

But paying 60$ for a game that I won't be able to return to after one month without paying an extra 15$ Yeahno. I expect a 60$ purchase to be usable anytime, without any extra charges.

I can go back to skyrim whenever I want, even if the game did get me kind of bored at the end. ES Online? If I get bored at the end of the free month but want to return later on, I won't be able to. Also, I have a busy life, I work 40 hours a week, gotta take care of my house, my pets, my social life... I know that 1 free month could only get me to the end of the tutorial stage of an online game...

Dehnus3915d ago

Ofcourse graphics are the only thing that is important, that is why Age of Conan was such a HUGE success.

And 15bucks a month! HOW DARE THEY! I AM UBER! I should be allowed to play for free to get everybody to adore my awesome playing style of teabagging and /spit on everybody. After all pvp is all that is important, PVE is only for bragging rights.

RPers should STFU and persistent worlds are for pansies! Just stand in your capital and wait till your queues ding! LIKE A MAN! :D.

Seriously for an actual persistent world, that has plenty of interaction and a more true scale connected landscape, villages, actual RPG elements (and not just a glorified MOBA for the PVP crowd that butchered Alterac Valey in WOW), proppre factions which you can join and PVP for, rather them have it forced on you... yeah I'll gladly pay 15 bucks a month for that.

Let me be immersed in my fantasy world! I hate how the F2P crowd these days dictate everything and have become really entitled. Even in games that aren't F2P.

Plus rather 15 bucks a month then Micro-transactions crap.

CorndogBurglar3915d ago

I played some MMO's that charged monthly fees to play, and I'm sorry, but its just not worth it to me.

$180 a year on top of the $50-$60 price tag of buying the actual game is a little ridiculous.

At least with micro-transactions you are only buying what you want. (Keep in mind, I'm not necessarily in support of MT's, but I can see their value over a set monthly fee just to play the game.)

I guess it doesn't really matter to me anymore, because i really don't have the time to invest into a real MMO these days, but back when I didn't have a family, I certainly did.

I used to love City of Heroes in particular. But i even had a hard time justifying paying a monthly fee for it.

Different strokes, man. I've been there and done that, so I don't think I'm entitled. I've experienced both sides and chose the one I prefer.

rextraordinaire3915d ago (Edited 3915d ago )

I haven't dictated anything to you. I just said that for 15$ a month, I ( as in, me ) saw no reason to play this.

And of course graphics are not all that matters, but for a monthly fee game, I expect a bit more.

frostypants3915d ago (Edited 3915d ago )

Yep. Take the "Elder Scrolls" name off of it and it doesn't seem all that special.

LordDhampire3915d ago

We all know we are still going to buy it and play for at least the free month

Detoxx3915d ago

I'll give the game a try once it becomes F2P, which will be in about 4 months.

leahcim3915d ago

Flop Rate Prediction: 97,4%

frostypants3915d ago

Yeah, check out the beta footage on Youtube. It doesn't even look like an Elder Scrolls game. Looks like every MMORPG made in the last few years.

Master-H3915d ago

This game should be f2p imo, it doesn't look good enough for a 60$ title plus monthly sub.
