Why The Wonderful 101 is my Game Of The Year

It has been a wonderful year for Nintendo fans regardless whether you own a Wii U or 3DS. Nintendo has delivered so many incredible games this year for their fans – so much so – that it has become an incredibly difficult task for myself to select my personal game of the year. With a list that consists of Lego City: Undercover, Pokemon X&Y, Fire Emblem Awakening, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, Pikmin 3, The Legend of Zela: A Link Between Worlds, The Wonderful 101 and finally Super Mario 3D World – selecting the best game from a lineup with sublime pedigree is difficult.

As great as the demo is, it seriously doesn't do justice to the full game.
It isn't representative of the depth of combat and story that you'll experience beyond the first few chapters, once you get the money to afford the better upgrades; it's just a teaser of the basics, if that.[heck, you need to use an unexplained trick just to access Whip and Claw powers in the demo.XD]

But I digress, so as to my opinion of the full game itself...

I've been playing the game for quite a while now and I can say with certainty that it's one of those under-the-radar classics that only got ignored because of the launch hype of the other systems; when given a fair shot, it's a game that will test any action game lover's skills and provide hours upon hours of honest and pure entertainment.

If someone is going to play this, it should be rented at least, but I highly recommend buying it right off.

It isn't the best game ever and easily not the best Platinum Games title, but it's an interesting game I strongly suggest to anyone with a Wii U experiences.

i tried the demo and didn't like it. if PG made a sequel to Okami i would be all over that in a heart beat.

It's a good game, but for me it's Platinum's weakest title and nowhere close to any of the titles they made as Clover. Viewtiful Joe is brilliant. Wonderful 101 is just a decent action title.

Man is this is game hard. I just bought it a week ago and its brutal BUT I love it!!! This game has so much charm and depth you can easily look over its short comings and to be honest the only thing I could think of is its learning curve. The game literally just throws you in the mix with little tutorial help. This is why this game is the pinnacle Of HARDCORE GAMING. I LOVE IT!!!

Just a little tip, in case you don't know already: forget about the touch screen inputs. Learn to activate all the powers with the right analog stick, it's the fastest and more precise way to play, and vital to perform quick combos. :)

Agree completely. W101 is not only my favorite game this year, but it has become my favorite game of all time, blowing off Xenoblade from that spot (here's hoping X takes that title back next year). XD

My third favorite Wii U game. After Pikmin 3 and SM3DW. It has that Nintendon magic that Star Fox dialogue and rail mode.

You know what, I can't even have a single GOTY this year; but I agree with you W101 is an absolute blast to play and is among my six GOTYs! the others are SM3DW, ALBW, Pikmin 3, GTA V and Fire Emblem.

Love this game,hard to master but when done its all fun!This game and Puppetter for the PS3 are my 2013 wonderfull gems!
