LGN "Xenonauts is a turn-based top-down strategy game where players are in charge of a multi-national military organisation, tasked to protect earth from extra-terrestrial invasion. The game is being developed by a London-based independent studio called Goldhawk."
We’ve been following the development of Xenonauts here at the Reticule with interest for quite some time, and last week I had the chance to exchange a few questions with Chris England, head of the Xenonauts project.
Had a little play of this at the EG Expo last year (year before?) and was really excited by what Chris had managed to make. Definitely an exciting indie game to look out for.
Xenonauts, the upcoming X-COM reimagining that aims to be more faithful than XCOM: Enemy Unknown, won’t be getting any post-release DLC because “the time it takes to do anything in the engine means that it wouldn’t be worth it.”
Kickstarter became a new way for developers to get support for the projects they wanted to make when Double Fine blew things wide open back in February. Many speculated whether the support Double Fine gathered would translate into a sustainable trend, and though no project has managed quite the same level of success, the community continues to show broad and unwavering support.
Skyjacker looks interesting, but I really want a hardcore space flight simulator. Space flight? Surely that's an oxymoron.
XCOM-inspired sounds good, though it looks like it could do with a bit of polish.
