Sorry but how old is this review? It states that this device can only capture video @ 30Mbps if recording 1080p/60fps.....but I bought this device in the last week of January and when I installed the latest drivers/software, it allowed me to capture video @ 60Mbps when 1080p/60fps
Review is based on the current ones listed on their site. RECentral maxes out on 30Mbps on 1080p/60fps on the setup.
It is possible they didn't update correctly (I will re-test and update accordingly). This is a good reason why ALL updated drivers should have release notes. Or they could just bring back the forum...

Rajman, do you mind me asking roughly what computer setup you use to manage your high bitrate videos?
What you mean setup? if you're asking what kind of PC I have, its the following:
- intel Core i7 3770K (3.5ghz) overclocked to 4.4ghz
- EVGA - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti PCI-E Graphics Card - 2 GB
- ASUS P8Z77-V LX NEW Z77 Chipset Motherboard
- Patriot Viper Xtreme 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866Mhz
- 2TB SATA3 HDD
- OCZ ZS Series 750W 80+ Bronze PSU
- Thermaltake Contac 21 CPU Cooler

(I'm looking into buying a new laptop and I'm not sure if I should skimp on the laptop and build a new desktop, etc. Basically, I'm shopping around and gathering information about different setups.)

I have a Mid-2012 13-inch MacBook Pro with the dual core 2.9ghz i7 processor, 16gb RAM (8 was fine too), and Intel HD 4000 Graphics. I also have both Mac OS and Windows 7 installed (via Bootcamp) and I can use the ExtremeCap U3 perfectly fine using the recentral software supplied from Avermedia (recording 1080p/60fps @60mbps).
So there's my specs for reference if you plan on recording using Avermedia's software - if you plan on recording raw footage though (.avi), you will need a beefier computer to record full 1080p footage (though in my case I THINK all I need is dedicated graphics and I've seen people rig their own external graphics for macbooks around the internet which I may end up trying in the future unless I buy a desktop - I was also using premiere pro to try to record raw footage and I believe premiere pro isn't well optimized for laptops anyways, reason I say that is because using Final Cut Pro has been faster in my opinion, especially when rendering and exporting)
So last night I ended I completely uninstalled everything AverMedia and re-installed it from the 1/21 file they posted and it finally worked.
Tested it and was able to select up to 60Mbps just like the Live Gamer HD and Live Gamer Portable.
If you didn't comment, I wouldn't have known it wasn't installed correctly. Obviously, the review is updated to reflect.
