Vgchartz.com, the most comprehensive videogaming charts in the world, has announced that Rockstar sold roughly 6 million copies of Grand Theft Auto IV during the first 5 days after the game's release. 4 million gamers purchased the game day one.
The game generated an estimated revenue of $390 million, exceeding Halo 3´s $280 million launch week. Worldwide sales split 4:3 in favour of the Xbox 360 while the Playstation 3 version saw a higher attach rate.
Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."
Just about every year in the 7th generation was great and something we most likely won't experience again.
2009 for example had Assassin's Creed 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Dragon Age: Origins, Uncharted 2, Halo 3: ODST, Killzone 2, Borderlands, Bayonetta, and Demon's Souls to name a few.
As we have all been graced by the release of Grand Theft Auto 6's trailer, we're ranking the best and worst GTA trailers to date.

Grand Theft Auto 4 is an important game for Rockstar, not least because it was the first title in the franchise to use the newly created RAGE engine.
so take it with a dump truck of salt
Looks like this turned out to be a major coup for Sony now lets hope Rockstar follows up with some decent dlc for the ps3 after they put out the 360 stuff...
4:3 = x360: PS3 in SW sales with PS3 winning europe in SW sales and X360 winning USA
However in terms of HW sales PS3 won USA and especially EUROPE by BIG MARGINS
I will wait to see the EU numbers tonight
pretty impressive for both systems, but especially the PS3 considering its lower install base and lack of DLC (so far anyway).

I'm sorry I can't even read the rest of the story because I am laughing so hard.
