Don’t Starve PS4 Release Date Confirmed, Included In Jan PS+Offerings

"Klei Entertainment‘s fiendish survival simulation Don’t Starve is launching January 7th on PS4, Back in August we reported that both Outlast and Don’t Starve would be part of the PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection when they hit PS4, and that looks to be confirmed by the presence of a promotional video in the free games section of the PS Store under the PlayStation Plus section. However, a PS4 release date for Outlast hasn’t been confirmed as of yet."

Dont Starve isn't an exclusive. It's been out on PC since April.

Anyway, I played the hell out of the PC version, so I'm really looking forward to seeing how well they implemented controller support and the new UI. Not long now.

You can use a controller on PC. I tried it with a controller because I always try all control methods and the game sucks with a controller and the PS4 version won't have mods so thats also a downside.

Stop with the word console exclusives. Its just a buzzword.

PC version is awesome. And already has gamepad support and a very slick UI, so not really sure what you're looking forward to.

Anyway, I know consoles don't "do" mods, but Don't Starve's mods are integrated into the Steam Client -AND- the game itself, so does anyone know if the PS4 version will have any form of mod support? Otherwise, I don't see any reason not to get it for PC considering what a low-spec game it is.

Hmm, I guess my hopes of DriveClub releasing in Jan are dashed. Whenever it comes out its PS+ version will be out too and if these games are filling the PS4 section of PS+ it's unlikely it'll show up too.

There's plenty to do on PS4 already. This is definitely not the only thing worth playing, though it does look awsome. Pinball arcade lets you play simulations of mainstream arcade pinball tables dating back to the 60's. Super Motherload is cool. And Resogun is a 9 out of 10, easy. DC Universe isn't really my thing and less so Warframe, but they have their followings. Also, you have to consider that there's more new FPS content on PS4 than there is on any other console right now. GHOST, BF4, KZ,BLACKLIGHT, and of the four, I mostly spend time with the second two, killzone and BlackLight Retribution. Killzone is not only the nicest looking FPS Ive ever played, but also is free of any leveling system almost entirly so its just about the visceral experience. PS4 is quick to succeed out the gate in my opinion.

I'm liking the free indies on ps plus for ps4, gives you a chance to check out games you would not have otherwise.

Yeah I'm the same, I remember when Gravity Rush was on it, I had no idea what it was about and probably wouldn't have bought it, turned out to be one of my favourite games of 2013 so got PS+ to thank for that :p

You mean y'all would buy the game if it wasn't free. A lot of people supported thus game when it came out and I am glad I'm one of them. A lot of indie game be higher quality than these so called AAA games people love to brag about. I'm loving how much PC gamers support indie dev a lot of them would see the light on consoles if it wasn't for them.

Outlast is an amazing game. Best played late at night with the lights off. Your in for a treat. Its worth buying on pc. I wouldn't wait.

I still might get it for my pc as i think me staring at my monitor in total darkness with my headphones on migh be a bit more immersive where as staring at my tv any little movement off screen diminishes said effect.

is there a problem? PC can't handle it by itself games need more sales so they come to console..

even games like diablo are better on Consoles.. PC can be upgradeable but Consoles is where its at.

I loved Don't Starve on PC, can't wait to play it on PS4 in a couple weeks. This is probably my most anticipated PS4 game right now, lol.

I got my PS+ on a 1 year for $30 deal. That is $2.50 per month. That is a pay wall I can accept plus it seems to pay back a lot more in PS+ PS4 free games. Most of the online is requiring PS+ anyway, so these DDL games are just more icing on the cake. The cake is not a lie, it is PS+. Sweet!
