Why the next Assassin’s Creed HAS to change.

GamR Mag's, Christian Orkibi, explores why he thinks the next Assassin's Creed game needs some serious re-working.

"I recently dived in to the Caribbean world of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. The game is without doubt, a masterpiece of excellence and the best Assassin game since the second. But as much as I revel in it’s brilliance, I can’t help but feel that pre-emptively, this series may have peaked. If Ubisoft want to keep hitting us year after year with a new Assassin’s Creed, then I think it’s time for a re-haul."

I totally agree with your opinions. Well-done!

devwan1862d ago

love the game, but I never want to eavesdrop or tail someone ever again. ever.

Sarcasm1862d ago

I agree. The best things about AC4 was because of the parts that ISN'T Assassin's Creed. Pretty much stuff like the ship and naval combat, the crafting, and the cheekier story line.

But the other tropes of AC like following missions, eavesdrop missions, and clunky combat mechanics are friggin' super annoying.

Murad1862d ago

They're mostly annoying because of how many times they've been abused. Let's be honest, we didn't notice these faults within AC2, which is why deep down, we hold that game as our pinnacle and comparisons to other AC titles. Then comes along Brotherhood, where people dislike it more, since well, you have Ezio not climbing certain buildings when he's supposed to, he can kill 10 people under 12 seconds, and what's worse are the missions. It just keeps getting worse, and even though I haven't played AC3/ AC4, I'm pretty sure I'm right that the next AC game will most likely be the same thing as AC4 in a manner.

The best parts of the know what nevermind but strongly disagree. More assassins vs templars

Spinal1862d ago

Which is the reason i haven't bought this game. I don't want to play a Pirate and all that Naval travel annoyed me about Creed 3.

I just want an Improved Creed 2, is that so much to ask for?? Disarming your opponent and using their weapon against them. Cant believe they took that out the game.

Heisenburger1862d ago

You can do that in ACIV. But like you said you didn't enjoy the naval, so you won't like ACIV.

I love it, personally. Hopefully they make one closer to it's roots so that you can enjoy it. :)

ErryK1862d ago

Would rather naval combat stay out of AC until it needs to come back.

I agree, the next AC game needs to be completely rebuilt from the bottom up. I really want them to put the ASSASSIN in Assassin's Creed, meaning taking advantage of darkness and shadow during nights and putting it in Japan would be excellent. They could have it set during the Meiji Restoration era so they can include guns and ship combat and still include samurai and soldiers.

Lionsguard1862d ago

I knew someone would bring up Tenchu. Hey if they want to finally make a new Tenchu game bring it on, otherwise, it's time to move on.

Dungus1862d ago

They should have released a new IP called Black Flag. A fully open world, exploration pirate game with trading amd massive navel battles that had zero connection with Assassin's Creed.

devwan1862d ago

I think that's pretty much what they're thinking of doing given the survey questions they asked recently.

Spinal1862d ago

Totally agree. Thats why i didnt buy it.

Jovanian 1862d ago (Edited 1862d ago )

They should try to experiment more. For like 3-4 games in a row it was the same old stuff, then in AC3 they introduced something brand new, the ship system, and it has already became one of the series staples. That kind of experimentation is what will make their games good
