Nice. I got a 1080p 65" TV for only $1200 in the U.S. It was so cheap because it was a DLP and not an LCD or Plasma. I think it's definetely smarter to go with DLP unless you really don't have that extra couple feet, cause they're easily less than half the price of a flat panel model.

you check out the LNT 5265F by samsung.. it's only $ 1998.88 and for the size and contrast it's one of the best tv's out right now imho

Actually that TV is known to have quite a bit of blurring issues as well as ghosting. I've got a better one in mind that will cost around 1,400 for a 46" Samsung A550. Real good set for gaming, hardly any blur at all.
Also I would recommend the Toshiba RV530U. the best 1080p TV you'll find for it's price. 1,199.99. in U.S. dollars. This TV has gotten really good reviews. Honestly if anyone is in the market. make sure you go to the AVS forums. They're all TV experts if you will. I bought my RV530U and have had no problems. A little blur, but it's inherent with all LCDs, some more than others.

That Pioneer telly is absolutely awesome - saw one running Assassin's Creed the other day and it looked amazing.

it's funny because if you're comparing lcd's it's kind of wide open. theres a few company's that make real good ones. samsung, sony, etc.

but when you talk about plasma. pioneer is so far ahead of the competition it's crazy. when you're looking at a pioneer plasma you KNOW what your looking at. by far the best picture i've seen.

actually the new f series samsungs are better then the top of the range sonys and kuro by pioneer kills everything .
PS just so you know your sony is actually a samsung with a bravia engine and a higher price tag ;)

ok dont get me wrong, GTA looks great compared to old GTA games, but it still is no OMFG STUNNER!

ive been playing it on my 61" Samsung 1080p DLP and it looks great. It is however no where near the glory of Gears of War or Call of Duty.

where are the dynamic weather effects, day and night transitions, and ragdoll physics in cod4?...ive only seen 2 different death animations in cod4. the game may not have the textures of those 2 games but its definitely waaaaaayyy more detailed than those 2 games. buildings, car physics, boat physics, AI for NPCs, helicopter physics, damage modeling to the cars, environment...everything! when u walk down a hill he shifts his weight to support himself, even little details like blood stains/bulletholes on the car when shooting or running over people.

and none of those games have the scale of a game world gta has. im not saying gow or cod4 are bad, because they arent, but i dont think they have better graphics than gta when u consider how big the game world is and there are interiors u can go into without little to no loading

i totally get what your saying about the engine and physics, its all great. Im talking straight graphics, and they are NOT AS GOOD as the games I listed. Those games shine in 1080p, where as GTA is good, not great. I understand its a HUGE world, and for how big the world is the graphics are fine, Im not saying I dont like the game because of it, I LOVE THE GAME! Just for instance, go to some of the smaller places in the game, (like the strip club, or a diner), the jaggies on some of the people are horrible. Some of the character models are HORRENDOUS! Most cut scenes look great, some not so great.

I'll be buying a HDTV screen in July, and still in doubt if I'll buy a plasma or LCD, a HD ready or a FullHD.

Which is messed up because I bought into it early and the industry has forgotten about 1080i. Gta IV ps3 looks sharp though, I love it! I dont care what anybody says gta iv is running on my tv at 1080i !!!
Call of duty 4 is a different story. The game is amazing to look at when im playing but its obvious in the cutscenes that I have pixelization in the background.(not sure if the term is correct)
its either 720 or 1080P on ps3's cod4!
maybe ive done something wrong in settings but whatever, this is the next gen gaming ive been waiting forever for!!!

HD TV's just make gaming in this generation so much better. If you are on the fence about getting one, I would suggest using some of that tax money and take the plunge :)

It's hard to go back to PC gaming after gaming on the big screen, but my Samsung has a video port to connect my PC directly and I'm seriously considering hooking up my PC to that and using a remote mouse/keyboard from my Lazy Boy.... ahhh the ultimate.

I have to agree - I have the same set, though its known as the x3500 here in the UK.
Best LCD on the market bar none, and if you set it up right, has black levels that can match the best plasma's. Love it.

SAMSUNG makes the panels for sony, They make the best telly,s The Pioneer is nice but I for one hate the scrren door effect the screen producess, It really effects the image when seated close to the TV.

Yup samsung make sonys panels , the only difference is the engine . previous to mid -last year sony had a better engines but samsungs TVs are better then sonys right now buy a fair margin .

Go with the Sony Bravia LCD as these really have the best contrast ratio for your dollar and are the most affordable 1080p TVS with 2 hdmi hookups you can get. I have the 32S3000 series and i can honestly say that games and HD movies look the best on this TV. From the rich colors to the deep blacks and at under $999 for a 32inch you cannot go wrong. I have a friend who took my advice and just picked one up and he cant stop talking about it. I had a Samsung and it did not even compare to this one. GTA looks incredible on this TV, especially when you have it all dialed in. I dont know what that idiot JustinTime is smoking, are you kidding me? GTA has got the best graphics of any game to date and yes it looks better than GOW or Call of Duty. Ive had people come over here and say they have never seen a more realistic looking game EVER! Get it for PS3 as the graphics are smoother and have the slighter edge and faster loading times compared to the 360.

For one dude, i said Sony Bravias are the best and mentioned what model i had. For the record the S series are not the low end, they are actually the most expensive series of the 32in Bravia models at the moment. When i purchased mine back in last November, i compared the S series with another Bravia that was supposed to be the higher end model, the S series was in the middle. There was maybe a hair difference, even the guy helping me out said theres really not any difference. The picture was exactly the same and thats all that counts. You are just upset because i said it blows away the Samsung which it actually did and you probably have. The blacks were weak in the Samsung i had and did not look nearly as good as the Bravias. The Bravias are for people with tight budgets and are low end, lol? Thats a laugh, go and price 32in LCD TVS right now and see what you come up with. You should really do your research first before you make false statements like that.

cause I dont care about the brand and it was on sale for 430$. I like it cause its a 1080i/720p while most 32in are only 720p. I notice a huge improvement in 1080i over 720p. also it has 2 component ,2 composite(with s video and 1 av out), 2 hdmi imputs, vga imput and a digital audio out. I dont care how much the tvs cost I judge it by its value.

Why would you care what TV you're running GTA4 on? GTA4 has some really terrible graphics for a next-gen game. Its still a great game of course, its not all about the graphics, but it looks pretty ugly, much like all GTAs before it.

I got it on 360 and I play it a 1080i and it looks great. The draw distance in the game is amazing, if you think the visuals are bad than you should go somewhere where you can look across the water at the other part of the city. For how much is being displayed the detail in the game is quite an accomplishment. To me looking across the water and seeing the city with that weird blur/smog effect, it looks amazing(plus all the stuff going on near you).

I picked mine up last year when it was best in class. Now Sammy has the 1 million to 1 contrrast ratios on the newer sets. I luv my 4065. I see not blur or ghosting. Pioneer 720P has screen door, no likey. But the 5010 or 1080P Elites now they are the best (or were last year.

My t.v. is great also. It's a 42in. 1080p Phillips with ambilight. Basically the ambilight makes my whole room react to the anything onscreen it's so sick.

i have a panasonic indistrial series plasma. i would highly reccomend it to anyone looking for a tv. check out CNET or AVSFORUM. the panny industrial series always rank with the top displays of the list. my th50phd8uk looks incredible and image retention is never a problem. the plasma can do a deeper black and produce more color and even luminance than any lcd. the industrial series displays have as many changeable settings as you could ever want if you are really into calibrating. the picture on this puppy is just incredible.

For my Xbox360 I'm using a Panasonic 61" 1080i LCD and For my PS3 I'm using a 42" Philips Ambilight LCD set. I like the way GTA looks on both TV's but when it comes to other games I favor my 42" tv more.
