can somebody show me a link tat said its to be expected at that time? im really curious cause i haven't heard anything except that they are working on it.
I'm in the same boat. Have the original PS Wireless headphones and I game on a computer monitor. I'm stuck using that cheap earbud if I wanna talk or a cheap 10 dollar set of headphones. BTW my TV is plasma and gets IR(Image Retention) easy, the reason for that setup.
Is it a brand new plasma? You won't get image retention once the TV has bedded in for over 200 hours. Image retention will also disappear after 10 minutes anyway. Only image burn last much longer but that is a thing of the past now.
HUD sticks around for quite a bit after gaming. Also much harder to see stuff at distance on the TV. I have a VT50 and use THX Cinema as the picture mode. And no I've had it for nearly a year, great TV but not ideal for gaming.
Funny enough I have a 55VT65b and use THX cinema mode too. Iv not heard of many reports of IR problems with that set and certainly not my set. You must be very unlucky. The VT65b is stunning with no problems such as lag or IR. Did you get 5 years warranty?
In regards to plasmas, that's not true at all. New plasmas, even after the break in period can still get image retention! I have a Panasonic VT60 that I bought back in July. It has well over 200 hours of break in time on it and it still can get IR if left on a static image for too long. Now permanent burn in, I haven't experienced that but you really have to abuse the set to get permanent burn in.
@wickedlester you have the same TV as me then. VT65b is the English version of the VT60. Im a heavy user and have had my TV on for 2000 hours since I bought it in May. Iv had static images on my screen for over 4 hours at a time and not a hint of IR. Perhaps it's something to do with variations of components used in different sets.I can honestly say IIv never suffered with IR on any plasma after 200 hours break in time.
The Pulse headset works with the PS4. Just plug it in to the bottom of the controller and then go to the sound settings. The sound even comes out in surround sound in the headset. And you don't even have to turn on the headset's power. It doesn't give the bass feedback, but it does do everything else (surround sound play, and voice chat).
My biggest issues right now are that some games still crash (Knack, Battlefield), and there is an echo during the voice chat sessions.
I hope so, reason I havn't grabbed one yet. I hate HDCP as much as Mandatory DRM. Xboner reversed their policy so I picked up their box now just waiting for the PSQuad to fix theirs.
I got to say, that is easily the most illogical reason to skip out on a console I've ever heard. Even if you hate HDCP, you can just buy a splitter or a device that removes it. This isn't a feature you absolutely have to deal with, but instead choose to out of cheapness or blind rage at a feature that doesn't technically harm anyone. I mean, unless you want to stream, there isn't any real reason to hate HDCP. In fact, I am willing to bet most consumers aren't aware the PS3 or most bluray players even have such a feature.
You can sort of prioritize downloads if your downloading many things at the same time. Let's say you're downloading 10 things you'll notice some of them are queued up, click x on the one you want to prioritize and it'll start it up and put a different download on queue.
I do wish they'd add the option to pause downloads and give us a better method of prioritizing downloads. I know it's coming, I just want it sooner rather than later.
It seems the PS4 wont see too many good drops, the rest of this year. Thats in terms of awesome firmware and awesome games. Hell, most of the GOOD games dont even come, til next Feburary - March. There hasnt been anything GOOD for PS4 Plus members, since PS4 launched...just Resogun, Contrast and some other. Every Tuesday, I check the PS Store for any new Plus games for PS4...only to see the same crap, in there. It's gonna be a sloooow winter, man. And a loooong wait, until next Spring.
Im not bashin the PS4. I have one and love it. Just wish Sony would get some momentum rollin. System stability is good...but we need more than that.
"There hasnt been anything GOOD for PS4 Plus members, since PS4 launched...just Resogun, Contrast and some other."
The amount of people confused by this just baffles me. Sony gave us the PlayStation 4 Plus content EARLY, because it launched in the US early. That update in November was considered December, though that isn't to say we won't get something for Xmas (they've done it in the past, though don't hold me or them to it). Now in January, we will probably see something change. Most likely Contrast for something else, since Resogun is an amazing game that really highlights Plus and is something they will want to keep.
in the comments section of Blog.US.Playstation.com some users were expressing their same concerns and Sony assured that in a reply it said great things will be here very soon for ps4+ members. Expecting it start the frenzy in Jan. BEYOND!
Resogun is a feast for my eyes. I played super stardust HD like crazy. I always go back to once or twice a month even after all this time. Housemarque did it again with Resogun. Incredible challenge, simplistic gameplay, crazy stuff happening on screen. Just awesome. That game is a $15 gift that's going to keep on giving for me.
Well the x86 shift starts the number of games at Zero. So it takes time to build them up. I suspect they will be keeping x86 in the next few generations so BC won't be a problem anymore.
It will be a few months before the good free games start. System is only a month old and has a very limited amount of games. I'm calling Knack as the first free game though.
Well...some of us feel that we shouldnt have to wait, for features that shouldve been there at launch, anyway. There is no reason why the PS4 couldnt have been ready to go, preloaded with all the features the PS3 currently has. None at all. This was a race between 2 major corporations, to try and beat one another to a console launch...and in doing so, neither side took the time to have the most basic of features ready. It's like they said "Well, they cant do much but play games...but here ya go."
what features, besides dlna mp3 support, are missing that honestly warrant complaining? You went from complaining about lack of free ps+ games for a system less than a month on the market to complaining about missing features. Not saying that some features shouldnt be there but none are a deal breaker because like you said its plays games, the majority of the popular media options are there. Like i said less than a month on the market and ppl are complaining.
“Existing wireless headsets from third-party companies that use a Bluetooth connection will not be supported on PS4, though most USB headsets will be supported following PS4 system software update 1.50.”
One of the oft forgotten bonuses of getting a console at or near launch is you get to geek out every time a new update is released. It's like leveling up your console.
All the people who get their PS4s in a year or two will just take all of these update features and stability for granted haha.
Why are the media features still being delayed? (mp3/video files/images) You had an entire year Sony and you thought no one would use media features??! Is SONY even trying???
Is this the patch that will enable ehadset use??Pulse
@Below Thanx guess i can wait little bit longer.
HDCP restriction should be removed....
Pause/resume downloads? I hope so ;)
i dont know why, even if my options are set to enable auto download in stand by mode, it doesnt work when my ps4 is in standby.
Thanks prodg52, lol I have just woken up, read it wrong. Not had my morning cup of cowoffe yet.
