Cranky Kong Confirmed for Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze

Nintendo has confirmed that Cranky Kong will be a playable character in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, which will release in the US on February 21. This announcement follows our report that a box art leak showcased Cranky on the game's cover alongside Donkey, Diddy, and Dixie.

Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. will easily sell more than Donkey Kong. Mario Kart Wii and Super Smash Bros Brawl sold a lot more than Donkey Kong Returns.

It's completely insane that Nintendo didn't come out with something more. This is *proof* they are misreading their market. I really don't think there is any winning back a certain category of gamers. They make quality games and always have, but at one point you have to sell gaming consoles to gamers...something they seem to not put any priority on.

I started watching it, but just couldn't do it anymore. It's pretty bad this year. What happened to the traditional stage and everything. And, you know, the awards. I saw two awards in 40 or 50 minutes. Joel just doesn't seem to care too much. He just seems like he's ready to get out of there.

Iwata should get fired. He's been there since 2000s and look at what's happened to Nintendo. They've gone completely streamlined, and they've stopped taking big risks like they did with a lot of their excellent N64 games.

Iwata is completely out of the loop and one of the biggest decision makers at the company. He NEEDS to go. Reggie is just dealing the cards he's given mostly.

Stopped taking risks? Taking risks is the entire reason the Wii U is doing the way it is. They done nothing but take risks.

They took risks with dual screen gaming, they took risks with motion control, they tooks risks with 3D, they took risks with the balance board and now they are taking a risk with the Wii U gamepad.

People's chief complaint about Nintendo is that they aren't trying to match their competitors, ie. becoming more main stream.

Iwata has seen Nintendo's profits and fame increase by more than 500% since he took his position. The last I checked, they are still posting a profit. He broad in the highest selling games in history.

Iwata will only be removed if WiiU doesn't become successful in its 3rd or 4th year. Just watch and see. Iwata has a long run casual sales approach that only works with low price. After everyone gets a PS4/XB1 and wants a secondary device I can see WiiU rising up with sales likely after another price drop.

Wii was different because it was cheaper. To sell a console at $300+ you have to have high consumer appeal. Nintendo only aims at casual. So they will not get everyone's eyes on them with that approach.

They have done some decent things for WiiU. I don't see it getting much better for the console until 2015 or so.

I have no words for Nintendo - showing footage of DK instead of building Hype for another game. How boring.. Tomb Raider got me more hyped and I don't care about it. Not to mention the game will Release next year February they had an entire year to release must have system seller games.. Even though Nintendo has the least powerful hardware of the 3 next-gen systems they would be in a MUCH better place if these games had come out earlier this year. Super Mario 3D World, DK, Zelda Windwaker HD 3 strong must have games. Ending the year with Mario Kart or Super Smash - Starting next year with a new Zelda, Metroid & Bayonetta. well this is the first time im watching this show and i have to say that joel really makes me want to punch him lol but at the same time he has occasional funny moments i guess, but as for nintendo i hoped for something else so im dissapointed but the good side is its releasing in feb so that means retro can start making metroid in feb if there second team havnt already started it.
