Compulsion Games, the studio responsible for Contrast, explains that the PS Plus deal is fair, but not really a goldmine as some thought.
Shaz from Pixel Swish reviews "South of Midnight" by Compulsion Games on PC.
I just finished South of Midnight. I think it’s a solid AA, even though the combat could have been a bit deeper. I love a cross-over between South of Midnight and Psychonauts.
Putting aside the game for a moment, anyone else find it wild we're considering an 8/10 to be a 'flawed' game? lol
The writing is so good at certain parts and than it will just turn around and drop the ball so hard. None of her comments towards the notes she reads are interesting and half the time they don't actually fit with the context of what was written. I am on Chapter 11 and finding it very hard to push myself to finish it at this point. Also I understand what they are going for but the way they present the mistreatment of folks is about as subtle as a sledgehammer to the face. Could have been done a bit better.
Review: With its memorable characters and creatures South Of Midnight will leave a lasting impression despite its repetitive combat.
Welcome to Developer_Direct 2025, a behind the scenes look at new gameplay, features, and the latest info for some of the biggest games coming to Xbox in 2025. You’ll hear straight from the game creators at id Software, Compulsion Games, Sandfall Interactive, and a surprise studio for a game that we’re excited to unveil.
Looking forward to the announcfement of Halo MCC coming to other platforms. I'd love to see an influx of new players for some blood gulch matches.
Speculated games that could be that 1 more thing.
Resident Evil 9 (maybe imo)
Persona 6 (not likely imo)
FF Remakes (not likely imo)
New Lost Odyssey (definitely not, its not a long running franchise)
Ninja Gaiden 4 (maybe and hopefully)
I really hope it's Ninja Gaiden 4 but its probably Resident Evil 9.
Not saying this will happen at this show but apparently a new a Halo could get announced. Yep a brand new Halo. Could be a spin off or something but. A new a Halo announcement would be pretty wild.
I'm glad devs can be so open about this sort of thing. Good to hear positive things about the PS+ programs for devs, because it sure is a good deal for gamers.
It's a good deal for everyone, Sony, devs, gamers. A fair deal is gold, which is why I always go with Sony and Playstation.
I'm just glad I got to play it. I'm not sure I've ever had so much fun with such a broken game.
PS+ is awesome.
Developers get a little slump of money for giving their game away which makes people try their games, Ive played a few games I otherwise wouldnt just because of plus.
Its a good way to get some exposure and get fans.
I like some of the games and I'd might be very interested in what those devs do next.
I think the deal must be ideal for devs that are not moving a lot of copies for a game or devs that are fresh or had very little exposure.
This is a great example, other developers should follow these steps.
