EA Will Release A New Battlefield Game In 2014

HardwarePal : Gaming business analyst Michael Pachter has recently been informed by EA that the publisher will release a new Battlefield title in 2014. This game won’t be developed by DICE which is kind of a surprise, but when you think about it, it clearly isn’t.

Good Thought, i would agree. I enjoyed BC series so much i hope no one takes that away, unless it will be more or less the same. Well BC1 was better IMO. As long as a game doesnt come out every couple months its fine.

I'm not sure how many of them still are there though. The studio was shut down after Warfighter temporarily. Sometime later DICE sent some of its dev team there, reopened it, and it's now known as DICE LA.

I am thinking its Visceral if those are the options. Since Criterion has been stating its got a new IP in the works. If so I suspect 2143 is most likely. Although I believe Bad Company 3 could also be a candidate. Then again 2014 could go without battlefield and we could see Criterions new IP or Viscerals next project release in late 2014. As titanfall has the Early 2014 window.

Yea sure, for instance COD ghost was released broken with constant crashes , game breaking bugs and whole game modes not available and they're still trying to fix it and even had to postpone the work on DLC to fix it..oh wait.....that was BF4.

There are eight franchises in front of it, but it does sell pretty darn well. The issue is that sales are declining. People do, in fact, get tired of playing the same game over and over. That's what they get for screwing over the original Infinity Ward and for letting Treyarch do anything.

Two things strike me when reading the article:
1. Patcher is talking about FY:15 - which means Fiscal Year 15. This probably means that "2014" is a very broad statement considering that FY15 has not yet begun it may very well land in 2015.

2. Noone is talking about releasing a new BF game except Patcher.

3. The original article does not mention anything about releasing a new BF in FY15 - they clearly only speak about "if".

4. I cannot count.

There isn't any proof that it would come 2014. I'm thinking that next battlefield comes 2015 and it's not made by Dice as they work on other projects. It might be a new bad company.

this is why I will dive more so into massive online only games. Why keep giving EA and these other companies 95-100 a year with the games and dlc when you could play a solid free to play game and do well spending less then 100 a year. The devs are getting richer and lazier and releasing broken unfinished rehashed games every year and slapping pricey dlc on top of that and making a fortune.
