Battlefield 4 screenshots: maxed settings at 7680x1440 on LPC

Running Battlefield 4 at 1440p is impressive, but the Large Pixel Collider doesn't merely seek to impress. It seeks to destroy all humans (maybe, we don't know what it's thinking about) and destroy all things less than miraculous. With a gurgle from its coolant tank, it commanded us to instead span three 2560x1440 displays and submerse our eyeballs in a gallon of 7680x1440 levelution.

I could only imagine how sweet it would be to see these live. Must be a challenge just to look at the whole image.

The game will still be bugged to the dick.

It's become the new "hot/cool" thing to bash on BF4 right now.

Maybe it's because I've only Played PC version, but the game works fine and runs good and I've had 20 games that were flawless.

Some lagged, some even froze on me like 4-5 times total, but overall it's been a good experience.

I however can't play the game and have it look this good.

Only have an AMD 7770...maybe next year

ThatEnglishDude4170d ago (Edited 4170d ago )

It's not about being 'cool', it's being truthful. And yes, EA/DICE need to be slammed repeatedly until they get their shit straight. End of. I own the game on PC (and also picked up the PS4 version because I wanted to play with my friends) and have had a pretty solid experience so far. Clocked in over 20 hours on each version.

That being said, DICE are renown for making buggy as fuck games. That's just the truth of it. Honestly, the worst game was Battlefield 2. Why people praised this game, and continue to think highly of it, is beyond me. The game is still a mess. Crap hitbox detection, poor netcoding, inconsistent weapons, questionable falling damage, stability issues, still hasn't got native widescreen resolution support. The list goes on. It's just not a well made game. I remember in 2004/2005 downloading patch after patch, each one usually fixing a bug introduced by the one before it. Thank god there's auto updates nowadays. BF2 released it's final patch in 2009 and it's STILL a trainwreck. Games after that, *in my experience*, were nowhere near as bad. But the fact remains that DICE are horrible at making games. It just sucks that the game itself is so Goddamn good.

Back to BF4, I've been playing it on a very powerful PC (i7 3770k, 12GB RAM, GTX TITAN) and it runs beautifully. I've had few crashes and issues. PS4 version has been much the same. A mostly good experience. That doesn't change the fact that the BF4, or ALL the BF games come to think of it, all feel like they're being held together by tape and band-aids and is likely to crash at any second. It's like an old beat up car. You just never know if it's going to work.

THAT'S Battlefield. Always has been, always will be. The games are bugged to the dick, but the games themselves are very good - when they're working.

What's the point of pretty graphics when the gameplay is broken?

That detail on the side of the cliff.

Battlefield 1, Hardline, BF4 Servers Are Being Taken Offline by Cheaters; EA Silent on Issue

Cheaters & hackers have been causing grief on Battlefield 1, Hardline & BF4 servers, with nonstop DDoS attacks among other things. Unfortunately, EA has remained silent about it.

-Foxtrot1134d ago

Course they are silent, they are hoping people flock to 2042

gamesftw2501133d ago

Maybe it was a inside job then haha.

jeromeface1132d ago

wouldnt be the first time, titanfall 1+2 anyone?

PapaBop1133d ago

Not even if they paid me.. EA always do this with old games with less money potential, if this was Ultimate Team, they'd address and sort it faster than stories could spread. Why invest time in their products when they will just dump it in the following years? Then again EA never could see the forest for the trees.

Inverno1133d ago

I imagine after those games were given out for free a couple months back through Amazon, anything that makes people go to 2042 is a plus for them

XiNatsuDragnel1134d ago

They want people to go on 2042. My theory

excaliburps1133d ago

Nah. I think they can't do anything about it or they want to sink money into fixing it.

Pudge1028881133d ago (Edited 1133d ago )

EA owns all BF servers so yes, they can do something about it but they refuse to because they dont want ppl playing their old games instead of the new one. Its EA we’re talking about here

pr33k331133d ago

if this happened in 2042, they'd have something to say. which is weird, considering battlefield 1 has more players on steam right now.

Pudge1028881133d ago

Its so obvious that EA is doing this or hired ppl to mess up the games so that we’d be forced to have just 1 Battlefield working.

FPS_D3TH1133d ago

Honestly it’s probably the devs themselves. They did an update to bf4 way back that kinda made assault rifles doo doo in hopes that people would flock to BF1 cuz BF4 was too perfect

There's a bunch of great shooters on gamepass; both legacy and new.

A recommendation I have is a work in progress preview title called Anacrusis. It's a lot of fun, and has a cool aesthetic.
