David Wong of Cracked.com writes:
"We are here to condemn Grand Theft Auto IV, and other equally great games, not out of hatred, but out of love. For it does no good to point out the flaws in bad games as bad games by definition cannot be saved.
No, we aim to save gaming from the abyss by pointing out the sins of games like the Elder Scrolls and Half Life series, games made by creators who actually care. It is in that spirit that we proclaim the commandments that they have broken, so that they may be redeemed.
Who are we? Just a bunch of gamers who got really, really bored. What are the consequences for breaking these commands? Well ... we might start reading books or something.
Therefore, we declare ...
7. Thou shalt let us play your game with real-life friends.
6. Thou shalt not pad the length of your games.
5. Thou shalt not force repetition on the player.
4. Thou shalt make killing fun.
3. Thou shalt admit when enough is enough.
2. Thou shalt make sure your game actually works
1. Better graphics do not equal innovation and/or creativity."
From the mid-1980s to the early part of the 2000s, light gun rail shooters were a staple in both arcade and home system gaming. Arguably, the genre started to really hit its stride in the mid-1990s. While games like Time Crisis, Virtual Cop, and House of the Dead, among others, dominated both the home system and arcade space, some one relegated to only home game systems. Today, we’ll be talking about a little-known cult game published by Sony called Project: Horned Owl. This game was developed by Alfa Systems, and all in all, this is a fun game.
Just like you don’t ask a woman her age, you don’t ask a Final Fantasy fan how many games there are in total.
I don't quiet get who it's directed at. General player? Sure, I can believe them not knowing some of the less popular final fantasy games. But final fantasy FANS? There is nothing forgotten about these games.
Game Rant interviews Plants vs. Zombies composer Peter McConnell about honoring the series’ quirky roots, adapting its themes, and now going vinyl.
The score for the first Plants Vs Zombies is such great, iconic music that it has a timeless quality. Not quite the level of Minecraft, but wonderful in its own right.
It's an interesting point they make about the Wii - you can mock it for being underpowered and focusing a lot on "kiddy" games, but it IS the console with the most options for local multiplayer. Especially if not everyone playing is a big gamer. Most of my friends aren't gamers, but do enjoy the Wii.
Though honestly, as a party game for casuals, I think Rock Band blows away any currrent Wii offerings.
I have to agree Rock Band is played alot more than Wii.. Im still not a Wii fan.. I mean I love smash bros but.. If you think about it.. Smash bros is best played with the average controller.. and is the best game for Wii.. so I mean what good is a gimmicky controller if its best game is played with a controller like every other console??
Fact is Wii is a great party system.. but honestly.. WHO really has People over EVERY SINGLE DAY to make Wii fun?
Most of us Have jobs and GFs or a life to go over to a friends house and play Wii..
Wii is cheap.. and its gimmicky controller is fun if you dont play all the time..
but Wii owners most likely own another console, because there is no way Wii owners can be content with wiis horrible online and crappy third party games.. There is just no way.. You can only play smash bros for soo long..
Whether you agree or disagree with all his points, he has some good things to say and some parts are pretty funny. Worth a read!
Breaking the real commandments are funner though.
