As difficult and frustrating as it is, people should consider reliving the Dark Souls 2 experience, especially because of what's coming to the game.
Many of those who hate Dark Souls II hate it because it's not Dark Souls. The same people love Dark Souls III because it isn't Dark Souls II.
And so many of the issues at the centre of common complaints about DS2 are present in DS3 and sometimes even DS1. The hatred and bile spewed over this perfectly decent game is ludicrous.
I don’t think it’s a terrible game, but like a movie sequel by a different director, for me, it does NOT capture any of the “magic” felt from the Miyazaki entries. Boss battles don’t feel epic, environments don’t have the same sense of awe, the enemy variety isn’t particularly interesting, the art direction just feels bland, about the only thing I can give it praise for is some of the music.
Now, again, this is only how I feel about it, so I’m not trying to invalidate his you feel about the game, but it is the worst entry in the series due to those factors and it’s the least re-visited entry, for me.
Is it decent as a game on its own? Sure. But in comparison to the Miyazaki entries, it does not stack up and I believe that’s where many were disappointed with it.
You can also play it in VR flawlessly on PC & controller with the LukeRoss mod so… another reason to jump back in with extra immersion.

Agreed. Skate 3, Def Jam FFNY, Black, Burnout 3, NBA Street v3, TimeSplitters FP, SSX3, Mirror’s Edge, etc etc. Fantastic era, and after that EA just dropped off completely.

Speaking of what's old but holds up amazingly well and plays like a dream.. i played Symphony of the Night for the first time in 2019.. yep that's right. It became one of my favourite games of all time that i replay almost every year. I couldn't believe how good it was. That is almost impossible for me with newer games let alone older ones. Truly a special gem.
The only one I’d disagree with is doom. It shows its age badly I think. After 5 minutes of play these days you put it down.
This is going to be the theme that will be repeated over and over again. It just has so many features that are fun to use and make sense. M4 isn't done yet either. This is going to be and exciting next few years. Starting fast does not guaranty you will win the race. These 2 console will compete to the bitter end.

See I don't agree, people who got burned by Ms won't be back. Me I bought 16 systems last gen cause of the "manufacturing problems". So essentially u Count at 16 people multiply that by a few hundred thousand and this genre wasn't even really close. Plus take away a year head start and it's even further from reality. I just do t see it happening.
Also any 0 fan would laugh on your face about the graphics comment. You must be one of those people who believe what ms says. That resolution doesn't matter. Well that's simple to prove, go to your nearest best buy and go to the television set up is. Take a good look at a 4k resolution television and then look at a 1080 P tv or a 720 only tv. Then ask yourself does resolution matter. Yeah graphics aren't a huge jump. But from ps4 to ps3 god of war 2 looks better than some of the launch titles. And that shit ain't even HD. Here is ms problem how do you convince people who don't Play games to spend 500 extra to talk to your tv when smart tv do that. Gimmicks only last so long in games. Playstation eye, xbox camera, playstation eye 2, move, kinect, kinect 2 all that shit is a gimmick and won't last. The other problem with the kinect in your tv is that ms don't have sole proprietorship over it. Sony can mimic everything that ms is doing. So can any other system, steam anyone? They say we only present games, no talk talk to you tv crap. I think this gen is over an dental ms gets cheaper than sony it's not gonna get be close with the other competitor entering the market. I'm very interest in steambox. It does look like a bright future but ms is better on voice control. That shit hasn't been successful since the telephone.
Once again!! Sony fanboys need to wake up and smell the future. MS put out a great system that will only get better with time. So will the ps4"graphically" but not with the over all entertainment experience. Every ps4 poster I see it has that damn wanna be kinect camera. If they are going to be just about games, then why even push that half as 720 camera add on. Power Power Power" lol" I keep telling people, you need more than graphical POWER to evolve the gaming experience. Im a older gamer and need my system to do more than play games. Expecially for 400/ 500 bucks. I don't have the time to invest that kind of time and money into a system that only plays games. Very practical choice for older gamers like myself. on last thing, sony loves to shout….POWER POWER POWER , but it's not even in the ball park of gaming PC's. If the ps4 system is 50% more powerful than the Xbox one, then that means the ps4 should last Two and a half more years than the xbox1. Sonys floods the market with to many things that don't go anywhere." (outside of blue ray, Which they didn't pioneer) PSP, UMD's, specialized memory cards and just a list of things that just don't make sense. They take ideas from nintendo and Microsoft and pretend it's there IDEA. At lest MS stuck it out with Kinect and will continue to revolutionize hands free and talk technology for gaming/ entertainment. Unlike Sony who just straight up stole the whole controller from nintendo WII/360.
