PlayStation 4 hot on Xbox One's heels

It's a battle that makes the Samsung Galaxy versus the iPhone, Oasis v Blur and Strictly vX Factor look tame. Xbox and PlayStation, the two biggest names in video games, go head to head over hundreds of millions of pounds in consumer cash.

PlayStation 4 hot on Xbox One's heels

Huh? More like Ms being shown a clean set of heels by Sony all this gen.

GarrusVakarian3804d ago (Edited 3804d ago )

I know....who the hell writes this stuff? The PS4 has been miles ahead since its reveal....that's common knowledge.

............Oh nevermind its "The Guardian".

dedicatedtogamers3804d ago

Yep.

The Xbox One is the console playing catchup. 1 million sold in 13 territories vs. the PS4 selling a million in 2 territories.

Chie_Satonaka3804d ago

Playstation has been on Microsoft heel since 2005.

Sitdown3804d ago

Sooooo..... did you read the article?

MWong3803d ago (Edited 3803d ago )

@ Sitdown
I read the article and it's a misleading title. It makes it sound like the PS4 is playing catch up to the XBO. They are referring to the the XB360 leading the PS3 this current gen in the UK.

Bottomline is that the PS4 is poised to sell way more consoles this holiday season if you look at their NA launch (only) versus XBO worldwide launch. With an additional 12-13 territories coming by end of year.

Hmmn, do I interpret the title to mean that the ps4 is next up for launch or do I jump to the conclusion and just bash the Xbox One. Who am I kidding, its n4g... not only will I make a poor assumption, but I won't even read the article to save face. Hooray, another victory for you guys.

European release is only going to widen the gap too.

Tony-A3803d ago (Edited 3803d ago )

That is what I think was so smart of Sony to do. It's really marketing genius if you think about it.

They launch in NA on the 15th, two weeks before the biggest shopping day of the year, building massive hype for the console.

Then, they launch the console on Black Friday in other countries that don't celebrate it, meaning they'll still get plenty of sales from all of these territories because:

1. They held back stock to ensure supply was there for Black Friday.
2. Launched in Europe - a huge PlayStation market.

Big numbers coming from all available territories within yet another 24 hour span. The media catches wind of the large numbers, once again regaining massive hype that should transcend into the Christmas time.

How f*ckin smart is that?! They won't have any issue selling a ton of units on Black Friday in the US and they're bound to sell a million or so in the other territories that very same day. This HAD to have been planned far far back.

The title of the article is a total joke

Deadpool1013803d ago (Edited 3803d ago )

Not really. The article is about the ps4 launching only a week after the xbox one in Europe and as of right now (beforethe PS4 launch) the Xbox One is ahead in Europe. Thusly the Playstation 4 IS hot on the Xbox One's heels. Though, looking at the global sales figures so far, im guessing it will probabably run right past the Xbox One by the end of the weekend.

I'm giving you a +bub for being one of the few to read the article!!

Belking3803d ago
