Serious Gamers: Get Ready for the Steam Machine

For serious gamers, there are currently only two real options. The first is to buy or build a gaming PC, the cost of which can range from $500-$600 for an entry-level machine to well into the thousands of dollars. The second option is to buy a console, such as the recently released PlayStation 4 from Sony (NYSE: SNE ) or the soon-to-be released Xbox One from Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT ) . These cost $399 and $499, respectively, well below the cost of even a mid-range gaming PC.

I doubt the steam machine is going to sell well. Most people who want an upgradable gaming machine already have a gaming rig. The whole point of a console is you buy 1 and every game you buy for your console works on it. They don't want to check what specs you need to even be able to play a game. It's about ease of use and the steam machine doesn't supply that.

To me "hardcore gamer" doesn't reply to people that only play on a high end PC but people that put a lot of time into playing games.

*time into a variety of games.

tbh the Steam Machine will sell well apart from it's total lack of any apparent exclusives and the fact it's upgreadable which defys the point of a console-plus the fairly high price s they are liekly to have...

I already have one. It's called a PC. I just want the controller. That's about it.

YAAAAAAWWWWWNNNNN.
Steambox from the man that said ps3 was awful. I have to agree with gamernova I have an i7 pc with a titan that cost me close to 1500, what reason would I or all the other good spec pc owners have for getting one. I buy a ps4 for the exclusives, but what will there be on steambox I can't get on my pc ?

Not really caring for the look of the controller.

Not sure it's 'as bad' as CP2077 as far as crashing and whatnot. It's just not as good of a game, so that makes the issues stand out more.

There's full walkthrough out there if you want to see the game for yourself: https://www.youtube.com/wat...

If your model is a bigger world with monthly content, the initial IP for this structure has to be great!
It doesn’t have to be long, and the cheapest the better, but it’s a good concept.
Create a game that’s solid and sell for cheap and offer monthly content for a price. But no one will buy it if the first entry is terrible.
