Romania? bit random, but I'm all for another Siren. Blood Curse was one of the best survival horrors of last gen.

himdeel4219d ago

I agree 100%. Siren was the best survival horror game last gen with Dead Space the only close contender. I'd certainly welcome a new game in the series.

Day one buy!!
I loved Blood Curse it's the scariest and most stressful thing i have never played. For those who played it, i think TLoU borrowed lots of ideas from it like the hearing and the sneaking.

@himdeel: Siren is a true Survival Horror because of the last of ammo.
DS is more action, to me it's more the necromorph who were trying to survive Isaacs heavy weapons. It's an excellent action game but not a true survival horror.

EDIT: i edited my post

To me Siren:Blood Curse was the only REAL survival horror game last gen on PS3 and the only game that almost made me sh*t my pants...looong time since a game succeeded with that!:)

Dead Space was good but you are armed to the teeth so you never feel vulnerable but rather wanted to have encounters in order to have fun dismembering the creatures...feeling vulnerable is a key stuff in survival horror games, at least to me...in Siren you felt like naked...SIREN:BC let very clear to me that PS3 was just on it's way of delivering many unique and awesome gaming experiences and it did. Great console!

EDIT: abzdine above has already written a similar comment to mine, nice to hear more think like that

Had Siren for the PS2. Creepy as hell. I loved the story concept. I never picked up Blood Curse, because I got my fill with the first game.

If this rumor turns out to be true though I may just pick Siren up again on the PS4.

Random? Dude, Romania is responsible for sh*tload of horror fiction that was written throughout history.

Kanako4219d ago

Omg, this is great news! If true. I was afraid that Blood Curse would be their last one. Hope it's still being made by project siren.

wenaldy4219d ago

They are busy with Gravity Rush 2. I can wait for another Siren. Ohwee, I hope it comes with revamped control and non liner approached (not like the last game which is linear-episodic content).

Zefros4219d ago

great, now i only need a release date on the evil within.

plmkoh4219d ago

I wonder if this will follow Blood curse and be a remake of Siren 2. I kind of want a totally new original title to be Siren 3, but at the same time Siren 2's play-ability is kind of screwed so it needs a good rework.

Interview with Keiichiro Toyama (creator of Silent Hill, Siren, and Gravity Rush)

In a career spanning interview, I speak to the creator of the Silent Hill, Siren, and Gravity Rush franchises about his 30 year time within the industry, what his thoughts are in making the transition from working for a AAA publisher to essentially becoming an independent, whether he’d be open to working on new iterations of the franchises that he’s renowned for, whether he’d be open to collaborating with any of the horror greats in the games industry, and what his long-term goals are for the next 30 years… Enjoy!

Interesting read, although the questions should have been more focused, and I think Gravity Rush, at least the first one, is fairly dark. Never got into the sequel.

DarXyde234d ago

I loved both games. There are pervasive themes of darkness worked in, but they're very vibrant games and Kat (history withstanding) is a very light-hearted character in a world that has its dark moments, but it's very generally upbeat, especially in comparison to Siren and Silent Hill.

Wait, dude made all 3? Wtf? Dude has a knack for cult classics like damn

DarXyde234d ago

"So most of the games that I’ve worked on have been new IPs, even though I’ve made different franchises and stuff. But I want to note that every time I make a new IP, my resources are pretty limited, and they’re limited by the company that I’ve worked for. So in that sense, Silent Hill, Siren, and the first Gravity Rush game, I think that we were striving to achieve something new, as opposed to making a big budget videogame. So I feel the need to do that every 3, 4, or 5 years. And I keep making new games, so going individual, like going indie right now, for me, I don’t really feel limited, I feel that it suits me more. So it feels like I’ve got an advantage, because I know how to work with limited resources."

That's encouraging. I really hope Sony would approach Toyama-san for a Gravity Rush sequel.

Horror Game "Siren" Rated by the Korean Game Rating Board

The Korean Game Rating Board has rated Siren, though it's unclear if this is a re-release, remake or something else.

Oh man I really loved these games.

CrimsonWing69260d ago (Edited 260d ago )

Ahhhh yea! I hope we can get the PS2 sequel. I still will never understand why that didn’t get a NA release.

jznrpg260d ago

Make a remaster collection. My 15 year old loves these games

Firesprite has been working on a AAA horror game for quite some time. Saw some people speculating maybe it's siren. That would be awesome.

DarXyde259d ago

I love Siren, but this sounds more depressing than anything.

Team Siren got gutted just for another team to make those games?

C'mon, man...
